I don't know what the heck is wrong with some of you guys. You sound like a bunch of cranky old hypocrites. Chad Johnson has never been arrested, never been suspended by the NFL, and still plays a mean wide receiver. Yet, you'll continue to talk about how much you would love to have guys like Edwards and Holmes on the team. That is goddamn retarded. At least be consistent. I too would love to have BE and SH back next season, as would pretty much everyone in the entire fan base...but it has nothing to do with my understanding of either of their citizenship attributes. They are both much worse in that department than Ocho. So if you're going to lobby against a guy and for another, at least make some sense before you start smacking your keyboard. At this point in his career, Ocho is definitely not better than either of our starters. But taking REALITY into account, we could very well end up needing to sign another guy to take one of their spots next year. This is the type of guy we are going to need to make it over the top, a vet that's in it for the ring and not the dough. I know he's under contract, and probably won't even be an option. It's not like I'm advocating a trade for him (though I would part with a 6th or 7th). The point is, just think about what you're posting before you do it. As for Revis, just because you're really fricking good at something, doesn't mean you know shit-all about anything else (*cough*Isaiah Thomas*cough*). In fact, you probably don't know much of anything else because you spend so much time perfecting what you excel at. Every time he has a chance in the spotlight, he gets diarrhea at the mouth. Shut up and play dude.

no we must keep BE and SH and lemme tell you why we traded draft picks for these guys, not for a one year, two year rental, they have chemistry with the QBs and other players, they know the system. Sure Revis is probably entertained by the idea, but if he really wants Asomugha and Chad Johnson, he is expecting them to take a paycut, rather than himself to play with these guys.
And let's remind him to show up for training camp on time next August. Chad Johnson? We don't need no stinkin' Chad Johnson. I have to trust Tanny sees it that way, too. Chad Johnson? Good God, no!
I have said it before and I will say it again, Edwards is no better than Ocho or T.O. I would rather sign ASO and Ocho or T.O. than Edwards/Cro... Just look at the numbers, our defense would be unstopable with ASO/Revis, draft a pass rusher in the first and we are set. T.O. and Ocho will come for cheap money were as Edwards wants 5-7 mil a season, and Cro wants top D.B. money also even though he is not worth top D.B. money.
I don't know if massive salary really comes into it... Ocho Cinco wouldn't exactly be a bank breaker at this point. He'd probably get around LT money at this point.
Very good post. Revis doesn't care what anyone thinks... which I'm glad for. You can see it in his game. I'm sure Tannenbaum isn't losing any sleep over Revis' campaigns.
Child Please.. Chad Johnson is a character and definatly a good receiver but BE and SH are better for our team. However, if we loose one of those 2 (hoping its SH if absolutely necessary) BE and 85 would be fun to watch and would still make a hell of a WR tandem.
It's one thing for players to want to play for the Jets to have fun while winning. But it's another thing for them to want to come here to have fun. I/we/the Jets don't want players who want to have fun. I/we/the Jets want players who want to win first. I dunno about Johnson...he's a clown off the field but he plays hard (from what I've seen). I do question his motives though.
Not surprising. He is good friends with Chad and probably feels that Chad might come here for rather cheap if the Jets lose BE or Tone. However, Chad is such a bad fit for this team. He still thinks he is a great wr and will want the ball non-stop. He is not a championship caliber player, and will ruin team chemistry. Plus, Schotty wont know how to use him, and he will bitch and moan non-stop, and even that wont get our awful OC fired.
