I was pretty close last year, I think I predicted 80 wins and they were pretty dam close. Honestly this year I have no faith in the pitching. They lost their best situational reliever and between Beltran and Reyes I'm betting at least 4 15 day DL stints between the 2 of them althought it would appear Beltran is playing for a contract so maybe his ass will actually show something this year. Hopefully he does and waives the no trade clause.
Actually because they have no expectations this team might do well. They won't have the pressure of having to perform at a high level they just might surprise many. With a new skipper at the helm I expect some mindset changes from the players, new and old.
Reyes should stay. There's no reason to trade him for low quality minor league players. Even with Reyes recent decline he's still a top 10 SS.

Also didn't he try to get in on the Cubs when they were up for sale? I don't think baseball wants a "character" like Cuban in the sport.
He would have been initiated into the owner spectrum no problem, it's just the Cubs demanded more money from him than anyone else and fucked up the sale.
I don't have many expectations for the mets this year. We'll be shedding alot of dead weight at the years end and sandy and co have been adding pieces this year for depth. I'll still be going to the games as always. I used to mostly go on days santana started to minimalize my pain, but that's out the window for atleast a couple months. Hopefully 2012 we'll see a turn around for this franchise.
The Mets will suck for a while. This is fine for me. I want a team that wins playoffs and series in dynasty fashion. Build the team, don't buy it please.
Like I said, this'll be the 09-10 Knicks. more about shedding payroll/bad contracts and deciding who to keep more than anything. I'm just hoping for improvement or consistency from a few guys. Would like to see bay get back on track, dickey be able to keep up the good work, and Ike Davis/Pagan/Jon niese continue to improve
I've withheld full judgement for a long long time..... because I love this franchise and I have a hard time being critical of something I love so much... and to be honest I find whiney fans totally annoying so I'd never want to be one, but today I will be. I fucken hate the Wilpons, especially Jeff. I'd like to kill him with my bare hands and eat his organs only so I could know the joy of throwing them back up and spitting them out.
