lt should come back and be given the role he was meant to have originally, being the 3rd down back.

greene should be the starter and receive the majority of the carries. if mcknight improves, i guess he'll see some action. but i'm not a believer just yet.

i would much rather have an LT/greene combo than greene/mcknight..

also, i'd like to see greene get more of the goal line carries. i know lt is one of the best to ever do short yardage.. but greene is built to push the pile.

I want LT back. He still has some fire, he hates the Pats, and he will cut up the bills. The guy has a nose for the first down, he is happy to be in NY, he is a leader and he can catch out of the backfield. There is still gas in the tank the guy can be a great productive #2. You can never have enough solid backs. Greene can't do it on his own. Who the hell is Joe McKnight?

Exactly. Our running backs were mismanaged all year.

LT can come back, he's a leader for this team and especially the young backs. Greene stepped it up big in the passing game, both receiving and pass pro(more the former than the latter). LT was a big part of that. McKnight is the perfect back to take over for Tomlinson's ideal role in this offense. Maybe not in pass pro but as a receiving threat, he'll be stellar if he trains with Tomlinson.

Tomlinson made $3.3 million(http://www.nyjetscap.com/salary.html) this season off of a potential $5.6 million contract(http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4994748) so we should be getting him for less next season than this one. I doubt the remaining $2.3 million in and of itself will be prohibitive.

I wouldnt put stock into McKnight doing anything ever. He isnt quick enough to be effective in that LT role.

If we need a 3rd down back to catch passes, LT is a pretty decent option. Id try to find another big back to pair with Greene and have LT as the 3rd down, change of pace guy.

It's nice when people let you know exactly when to stop paying attention to their posts.

I know. Slow guys with poor vision always do wonders at the pro level.

McKnight is slow? That's a first...don't think I've ever heard that criticism before.

This is shame that it is even being discussed. The only reason people would agree LT should go is because the Jets OC is unable to utilize players correctly.

Wasn't LT in the running for MTV during the early half of the season? wonder what happened, he just wasn't as effective.

I say keep him and let him get 5-7 carries per game.

McKnight ran a 4.47....and is even slower than that in pads.

The guy underachieved at USC. For the type of back he's supposed to be....he just doesnt have the elusiveness or the vision.

Thank you. People got frustrated with LT because Schotty expected him to be 2005 LT. He got way more touches than he should have, and it cost us. If he comes back and plays the role we all expected him to play--3drb--he would be a great contributor to our team.

The dude is still way too talented to be cut from our team

LT regained a ton of bounce this season. He looked like a different player from his 09 campaign in SD where he looked overweight and slow. If he comes back to the Jets in shape...he could definitely be a solid pass catcher and 3rd down guy.

Plus, another year with Sanchez cant hurt either.

This could be a delema. LT cant come into a game here and there he needs to build up a rhythm and get multiple carries and shone is a brusier best used in certain down ( like at the goal line). I didint like that LT could be seen getting slower as the year went on like he was breaking down. Id say find a new running back !

Yeah, they put him on as the next VJ since Carson Daly kept fumbling the mic.
