Folk sucks on kick-offs...he's got no leg to put it in the endzone.

I say bring in someone else.

Vinateri left New England to play in a dome/warmer weather, has on-going nagging injuries and has no desire to play for the Jets.

    Not happening

    End of story.

That kick at the end of the 1st half was a big kick, we needed points so I tip my cap to Nick. Overlal he had a decent year and was better than we could have hoped for, I'd still prefer someone I feel more confident in but we could do worse than folk.

I agree, when we look back now he did make some big kicks.

Obviously the Colts one stands out but he was great our first trip to Pitt too, which according to Feely is the hardest place to kick.

i dont even think vinateri kicks off anymore.

folks problem is kicking off, and kicking field goals.

we need just some random clown honestly. the kicker isnt a huge issue.

to inconsistent, but when we need someont to hit a 45+ and our new guy doesn't have the range, then we will be asking for Folk back. lose lose IMO.

I'm glad he hit this one today. Would have been good from 60-62 too, unless it drifted right.

I'm cringing that he's going to make up for it by shanking a 27 yarder against the Dolphins or Pats though.

so basically what are you are saying is that the kicker is good unless he misses...

    quite a concept.

Folk's horribleness is vastly overstated by a lot of Jet fans. He's really just a middle-of-the-pack/above league average kicker. I understand he misses some dumb kicks, but by that same token will make 50+ yarders in the clutch. Doesn't mean he deserves all the overwhelming hate.

I was most surprised about how deep and high his kickoffs became in the 4th quarter. I was convinced that he just didn't have a deep kickoff caliber leg. Excellent to see that he has the potential to boom them to the back of the end zone

I was strangely confident, also because we wouldn't have lost with a miss. Folk has the leg and can handle some pressure, you look at the Indy playoff game and now this. Nobody makes them all, I'd rather he make them when they decide games.

I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't incredibly nervous, but he nailed that kick. Did anyone see him on replay, where he looked right at Dallas' sideline and screamed "YEAH!!!!!"

    Awesome.
