Next year, if we're lucky enough to get this far in the playoffs again, can we all make a concerted effort to not flood this board with all these "I've waited all my life for this moment" or "lets win it for (insert aging or deceased person's name here)!" type posts? As much as I can relate to those sentiments, it's sad to read them after our team shits the bed YET AGAIN and tears our hearts out YET AGAIN.

Next year, let us expect to win because we feel our team is better and NOT because we have this ridiculous idea that fate or some spiritual being owes us a championship. And please, enough with how long you've been suffering or how you "just know" that it's our year. I'm tired of reading that sappy sh*t. Post that crap after Rex Ryan is holding the Lombardi trophy (which I honestly feel will be sooner than later.)

Can't say I totally agree but I do hear what you're saying. All the "this is our year", "it's destiny", "we've suffered so long" posts don't mean jack shit as far as the outcome of the game. I used to laugh at Red Sox fans who thought every season was "their year".

Jets had the practically impossible task of winning a championship as a #6 seed, on the road against 3 probable HOF QB's. They came up a little short and nobody should be all that surprised. They are pretty much what we thought they were.

He has a point. All this destiny, all this "time is now" bs is just that, bs. If you come out every Sunday, give it your all and play 4 quarters you WILL win it. It is that simple. We only came out for two quarters, and that's why we didn't.

It's all the posters faults....wow, now I've heard it all.
The real reason they lost is because you washed your "lucky" jersey and boxers, not because some people hope, and God forbid, some people have an emotional attachment to their team and it brought them together with their dads, or their sons, or their uncles or whatever. It's sad because the team lost, but that's part of the point of a message board. To tell your stories, and I for one (I get where the OP is coming from) hope it doesn't stop and that (hopefully) we're in the same position again to tell these types of stories this time next year.

Rex was the OBVIOUSLY the black guys out there missing tackles and the mexican guy overthrowing and the black guy dropping passes and the skinny white fuck calling the offensive plays.

Yeah because all the inspirational posts are why we lost yesterday. Excuse people like me for having invested 25 years of my life to this team to have the audacity to post win it for threads. I'm sure all the players made sure to stop by and read these posts before they got on the bus to go to the stadium and knew they didn't even have to show up. Get lost.

Where in my post do I blame your self-pity, please love me god posts for the loss? All I'm saying is that you guys are starting to sound like broken records EVERY time this team makes the fucking playoffs. Let me let you in on a little secret...FATE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT FOOTBALL. And it certainly doesn't care how long you've been suffering. If that were the case, The Lions would be facing the Browns in 2 weeks.

It's pretty silly when people were so hyped up over the Pats win that they were pouring all their emotions out like it was our destiny to win the Super Bowl. Next time we get here I hope people take it like we still have another two games to win before we celebrate. All of us were guilty of it.

For someone who's been on this board for 8 years, I would imagine you'd understand what a message board is all about. People have emotions or thoughts weighing on their heads or hearts and they put keyboard to monitor. I see nothing wrong with it. No one who posts on a MB should have a problem with it. No one has a gun to your head telling you to click the thread. I think, at least.

Who the hell are you to tell people what they can or can't post on a Jets MESSAGE BOARD/FORUM??

The thread titles are right there, don't like em don't read em.

I love seeing other Jet fans amped up and positive, yeah we fuckin lost. It sucks hard, but we had a great season. We have Rex and Sanchez for a long time, with those 2 paired together we will win a SB.

How about you stop posting threads bitching about everything? It's pretty fuckin obvious we aren't too happy today.

Its equally silly to have posters pretending to dictate what other people post. Some people are emotional about this stuff. Emotions are normal. Relax and don't worry about what other people are posting - if somebody wants to celebrate or be emotional and you don't feel the same way - fine, nobody is forcing you to agree w/them - just move on to a topic you are more interested in discussing, like how rancesca is douchebag for example.

They say the same shit every time we're in the playoffs. You'd think they'd get it by now....DESTINY HATES YOUR TEAM. So man up, say fuck destiny and demand clutch performances from your players...not "Angels in the Outfield".

And yes, I have been guilty of this as well in the past...but I have learned my lesson.

I understand where you're coming from to a point, but this isn't Communist Russia or China. This is a message board. Posters all well within their rights to say, "do this for dad," or "do this for Fido," or whatever. I don't believe in the whole jinx thing or superstition (for the most part) and I do realize fate has nothing to do with a game, but if a poster is feeling emotional and writes what he feels, which I like to read, myself, then don't play the Internet police. Let people write what they want. You don't have to click on that particular thread.

I absolutely agree that people have a right to write whatever is on their mind. I guess I'm just trying to get them to think twice before opening themselves up for further embarrassment next season and beyond. And trust me, if you go back and read some of those posts - it's almost painful to read. Having people bring up the memories of their deceased relatives, or sick children - it's depressing.

I started that thread, who the hell are you to come on here and tell people what to post. Everybody has different attachments to this team. If I wanna start a thread about my emotional and financial investment to this team for 25 years I'm going to fucking do it. If you are tired of reading them then don't open it up.

Embarrassment? Really? Why should anybody be embarrassed about posting about their memories of sitting in the Meadowlands watching Joe Walton self destruct with their dad? That's what sports are about, the memories and the people you share them with. If anything people who start threads like yours are the ones who should be embarrassed, crying and whining about everything. We lost, get over it. It had nothing to do with anything that was posted on this board.

It's a fucking message board, full of personal opinion. If people can't post how they feel about a player, or a game, or a moment, then what the fuck do they post...stats?

Some people were excited about the game and said so, should they shut up too to server your interests?
