I think Pool is gone. Cro might be gone if he costs too much, and NA wants to come here for a little less than 10-12 mil a year. Harris is a lock, and I think both WR's will be back too. Agree with everything else.
1st, 3rd and a 4th. They might trade down out of their 1st and pick up picks. That is always possible.
What we need, not addressing how or where we get them. an OLB, A DE, a NT. If we let one of our WR's go then a new WR, an OL and a third RB if LT retires. Probably could use one more OL as well out of the draft.
We need to upgrade the speed at linebacker big time -- coverage is spotty in space. It's not so much going forward where we have the problem, it's moving backwards. Need a 3-4 end (will have to see if Gilbert has it or not); plus, Steve Weatheford is showing me he really can't play when the brightest lights are on. Need some OL depth, and pray that Ducasse can replace Woody at RT next year.
I agree on what you said, on Ellis if he's willing to do a reasonable one or two year deal I'm for it, draft a young DE to groom to replace him and give the young guy a chance to rotate in with Ellis to reduce the pressure on the kid, I also wouldn't mind seeing Pryce back if the price is right. He's been disruptive taking up blockers when he's been in, but the price would have to be right.
I agree that Cro may be gone, he will need to sign as big of a contract as he can so that he can support all of those kids. But, I was really happy with how Pool played at the end of the season and playoffs. Once he figured out the D and got comfortable he started making plays.
1. Draft pass rush 2. Fire Schotty. Just too many deeply questionable play calls. 3. Draft a nose tackle.
I honestly don't know if firing Schotty is a good idea. His play calling can be really bad, but I think the less noticeable thing he does is develop Sanchez. Obviously we as fans can't know how much he is responsible for, but I think it needs to be considered
This team will be the same for years to come. Good enough to make the playoffs, not good enough to win the big one. Rex's schtick will grow real tired the minute there is real adversity. He can coach the x's and o's, but his motivation is one dimensional. And this team relies far too much on the histrionics.
No more Shotty. I tried for a long time and didn't sh*t on him, but 15 goddamn games in a a row w/out a TD in the 1st quarter is inexcusable.
Folk kicked ass today. We were in desperate need of a pass rush last year and we dam sure better get one next year.
We will need to fill a WR spot, DE and DT for sure. Most likely a CB as Cromartie will leave. (Although, his stock has dropped over the last 1/2 of the season)
Go to a pass based offense. Keep the receivers. get rid of Schottenheimer. Go and get a coordinator that is somewhere else who emphasizes the pass who wants a shot at a ring and a raise.
