I'm proud of this team, we showed we are a force to be reckoned with. I'm immensely disappointed but that was only year 2 for our QB and I like what I see so far.

5 points away from the Superbowl. If that's SOJ then you need your head checked. We lost, but it's only Rex and Sanchez's second year. Do you see them getting worse? Every year our team has improved under them, give them time and they'll win us one. Not this year obviously, but maybe next year.

    SOJ is dead.

But then again, technically, so are zombies.

Maybe that explains the first half..

SOJ is not entirely dead until they get to a Super Bowl unfortunately. Yeah if you guaranteed me this same team could come back next year then I'd say the last two years could be a stepping stone but there are just so many questions with this team - Holmes, Edwards, Cromartie, Harris, and whatever other key FA's we have and will we be under a cap?

THIS is what i mean. getting this far is just not easy. 3 in a row is highly unlikely. This was the time, just like the same people here getting pissed at me for being disappointed were saying all week.

Great post. Seriously, I was sick to my stomach at half time. If this was the same old jets they would of gave up right there. They fought hard in the second half and made a game of it. It sucks not going to the Superbowl, but back to back AFCCG is nothing to be ashamed of either.

We're not the same old JETS. We're just not the JETS we think we are.

Close but no cigar...Far from the SOJ though! Sucks to lose, I feel like shit but at least we got something to look foward to next year! Could be worse, we could have Henne/Sparano

According to my Dad (and me) SOJ still has a little life.

My Dad:"Same Old Jets will die...once and for all, if we can ever make it to and win the Super Bowl again."

I thought this was our year.

Either way.......A.S., I'm sorry I didn't get to tell my Dad, "We did it!". For us, and for you and your Dad.

I'll take these two years. man two years of being one game away, come on. You could be the Phins or the Bills.
I think this team is now on the brink because this last half showed they can play. They need an healthy nose-tackle and a pass rusher and Safety. The trick is to keep what they have and add the other pieces. Mark has really grown this year and the core players are all young as well.
This is the new winning SOJ

SOJs don't make it to the AFCC two seasons in a row. SOJs don't make it to the playoffs two seasons in a row. SOJs don't bring it back to within five after trailing by 5 in the first half.

This team is far from the SOJs. SOJFs need to shut the fuck up with that shit. Yea, it sucks that we lost to the Steelers this year. Hard. I don't think anyone could be more disappointed/angry about that than me, given my absolute hatred for that city. Still, this team has a bright future ahead of it. The Jets have a great QB to build around a great OLine, a future feature back in Shonn Greene, a great CoP candidate in Joe McKnight, and a great WR in whoever survives out of Edwards, Holmes and Cotchery.

Our defense needs work but we are far from SOJ pathetic on that front. SOJs (the image, not the players) wouldn't have had the heart or determination of Ellis to take two shots to the knee just to play in this game. SOJs wouldn't have had the drive to keep on Pressing the Steelers in the 4th quarter. SOJs wouldn't have fucking been in the game in the second half.

Two years, two AFCC games. SOJs are dead. Long live the JETS!

It's either "Next year," or "never." Which one would you rather pick?

Some of you don't understand what SOJs really means.
It's about the team you loving ripping your heart out.
Year after year after fucking year....and they always find a creative way to do it.

This year it was coming out as soft as a baby's ass in the first half of the AFC Championship, then tough as nails in the 2nd to almost give us the win.
Just enough to keep us hanging on..

I've been going to see the Jets since the 70s.
We've had some decent highs, but way too many lows.
I do think SOJ still applies, but I'm waiting for Rex to rip that nameplate off and put up a 'Super Bowl Champion NY Jets' in the next year or two.
If not, we are cursed much like the Sawx or Cubbies.
