I don't want to hear one f'ing thing about "the future". There are no moral victories. Making it to the AFCCG is simply not good enough.

We need to win the AFC East and have home playoff games. It's as simple as that. That was the real reason that the loss to the Pats killed us. There's a reason not too many 6-seeds run the table and win the SB.

From a financial point of view, uness the new cba has a large jump in the cap, the Jets will have a tough time bringing back this team next year without losing 4 or 5 really good players.

They have some tough decisions to make.

How often ? Well put it this way, how many teams out there in the AFC are better than us?

Pats? No way, Colts ? their times past. Ravens ? Full of holes.

Fact is the Steelers are the only team in the afc who truly has more talent than us. But with an aging Ward and Polamalu, then some key free agents they might not afford, there truly really isnt anyone in the AFC with a brighter future than us, right now.

As we address our front 7 and our oline is healthy, this teams gonna be even better next year than this year.

Id consider myself shocked if we arent in the AFCCG next year

Losing 4-5 really good players? Id say 1-2 tops, with Cromartie and Smith being near the top of chopping block.

I think the future is bright too, but NOTHING positive came out of this game (except perhaps that a national audience got to see Sanchez play his heart out). You've got to take advantage of an opportunity like this; you're not guaranteed to get another chance at it. Just ask Dan Marino.

I love the New York Jets. This one hurts. '82, '98, '09', '10 they all are heartbreaking. But, we will move on. We have a great fucking coach and an awesome, gutsy quarterback.

We will have our day in the sun.

I expect once the CBA is finalized, that if more games are added to the season, that the cap will increase. There will also be a rookie salary cap, which means less money will need to be allocated from the cap for the rookies. There is a chance that we might to be able to keep several of our Free agents, and hopefully they love playing for Rex so much that they will sign for less.

Meh. 0 for 2 in the AFC championship. You dont get many chances at this. I love my coach though, and I love my team.

Rex and Tanny need to make some tough, emotional decisions in the off-season. They know what they need to do to get this team to the next level.

The Pats have won the division two straight years.

  13. The franchise is in very strong shape. Two consecutive years in the conference title game. Wins going from 9 to 11. A young roster at key spots, starting to hit their prime.

The future is bright. But after today, no more. Making the conference title game, or beating the Pats and Colts, is no longer enough. Nothing short of February football will do.

The future is definitely bright as we continue to get younger, but make no mistake this was our best year to win it. I can't see the next couple years having the same or better talent than we had this year. Look at the list of free agents we now have.

    Holmes
    Edwards
    Cromartie
    Harris
    B. Smith
    Ellis
    Pryce
I think Pool is a free agent too.

LT/Taylor/Woody could be all 'cap casualties' I believe. TRich could retire. Its going to be ridiculously tough to keep all those guys. I think the top 4 of the list need to be resigned. Tanny is going to have his hands full this offseason.

And the Jets play on the road while winning nothing....

  17. I'm not sure this was the best shot to win it. Sanchez, Mangold, Ferguson, Revis, Harris, Greene, etc., are only now just entering their prime. The window is opening, not closing.

But they had damn well better do it someday soon.

everybody is going to panic like a bunch of pussies. This JETS team came back but fell short and im sure if Sanchez would of gotten the ball back, he would of scored a TD. The JETS should be back next year. But then, theres the play calling. I'll save that for another thread...

The future might be bright, but we are in no way guaranted to get back here again. That is why this is so disappointing. We were the better team, and yet lost. I dont want to hear about the future right now..
