What did you expect? Of course the city is going to be crawling with Pittsburgh fans. Suck it up, and enjoy your Jets at a Pittsburgh bar. Just don't be an asshole about the Steelers, and you'll be fine.
a little harsh TommyGreen. Are you a Jets fan? this thread was a just asking where in Pitt can a Jets fan watch the Jets in peace. I know that here in NJ, in the bar I sometimes watch games at there is a back room that has about 8-15 Steelers fans every Sunday. First and foremost they spend money. They are loud and obnoxious with each other and ITS ONLY A FOOTBALL GAME. Like it or not, with the Jets sucess this year there will be more Jets fans than usual going to the Burgh on Dec 18 for the game. It would be the same with Steelers fans, I know Pitt travels well. I, for one want to know where a good place to congregate the night before and the morning before without having some young(or old) punk drunk Steelers fan taking a shot at me for wearing Jets Green. We have money, its only a damn game, and there will be kids around as well. True, there are certain bars and restaurants that I would advise non-Jets fans to go to so I don't go there. The people are too crazy for any game. Wheteher it be Mullens or Hilton Bar there will be Green fans Go Jets
Anyone have any good leads for Jets @ Steelers tix? My plan is still to tailgate at Mullen's or maybe even Jerome Bettis's Grill (it's a bit closer to Heinz) before the game. If anyone is planning to be at the game and needs some info on where to go/stay around Pittsburgh, I'm happy to help. Go Browns @ Miami. Next year, that division is Mangini's and maybe finally the fair weather Steeler fans here will begin to scatter. :steelers:
I will be there if the Jets win tomorrow night. I made a post about this...is it safe to wear Jets gear at the game? I've heard mixed things.
I live only 45 minutes from Pittsburgh and I'm a HUGE Jets fan!!! My dad is a Steelers fan and I have season tickets to see the Steelers play, but I am most definately a Jets fan way more! I will definately be at the game! Cant wait! Go Jets!
From what I've heard, if you're respectful in your enthusiasm, you won't have a problem. I think this is just common sense. If you focus on the game and not on taunting the fans, they will be okay with it.
Reporter Hi, I'm looking for any Jets fans living in pit to help with an article I'm working on...thanks Any chance you would be interested in speaking Brick? Please contact me at Mlysiak at nydailynews .com
I will be travelling with a large contingent of jet fans to tailgate in pitt at about 1 pm on sunday. Probably lot by pnc. All r welcome
Anybody else making the trip on Sunday? Tickets aren't too expensive starting at about $250 (lowers start at $325) and keep coming down http://www.stubhub.com/pittsburgh-steelers-playoff-tickets/steelers-vs-jets-1-23-2011-1020353/
I'm new here, but I also just moved to PGH this year. It isn't that bad. Locals don't really bother you but they can't fathom why you'd root for anyone other than the "Stillers"...So Brick and I are the only two jets fans inside of 2 hours of Pittsburgh on this blog? hmmm...well I guess we have to start a fan club or something...
Parking by Heinz field is crowded early and expensive... Best bet: park in any of the lots just across bridge in downtown Pittsburgh (eg. 9th St and Duquesne) for less than half the price, and take a 10 minute walk over to the field.
We are going to start a Jets bar next year - DAMNIT, IT WILL HAPPEN! Went I went to Archie's in South Side a couple of times and the owner was actually very friendly to me - that is definitely a candidate. And it's right on the 75 bus line for those of us who like to have a couple of beers with our football. It's also small enough that we could pack 20-30 Jets fans in there and own 1/3 of the place. Other suggestions welcome.
I'm gonna get out there Saturday night and wondered if there was a place visiting Jets fans have targeted other than the talk of Finnegans on game day. Anyone have Saturday night plans lined up?
Claddagh Pub the night before! And I heard the casino parking lot is excellent for tailgating, including free bathroom access
By any chance did this ever happen? I'll be in Pitt for the bulk of the season and I need a good spot to watch the Jets games! Thanks
