It seems like everyone in the media has a problem with the lack of trashtalk going on between us and the Steelers. Do you agree?
There is no point this week. This is not a natural rival, a team we are seeking revenge against, or even a team that is infinelty better. It's just a team that we have already beaten that is standing in our way.
if the media paid attention theyd know that we rarely trash talk before games ... there was no trash talk before the colts game and we came out with a W
Last week, the team was getting killed for calling out the big bad Patsies. Now, they are worried that they AREN'T doing that as if it is some kind of sign that the team will have a let down this week in terms of emotions. The Jets can never win with these guys. Screw the talking heads...
reporters got lazy under the rex regime cause he wrote there stories for them. now they have to actually study team tendencies and do more than bait him. so now people make it sound like were pussies and the steelers are too tough to trash talk. when in reality its a mutual respect between two organizations whos styles of play mirror eachother
Agreed...not only that but the Squeeler defense IS somewhat of a concern...no need to rile them up either. :steelers:
Yeah, I dispute the whole premise of the question. Ryan was trying to change the outlook for the rematch with NE, given the last time they played. He wasn't really trash talking. I know trash talking when I see it. All he was really saying was that game was going to be different. he was right. Different opponent, different circumstances, this week.
I think the lack of trash talk serves to prove a point. Yes Jets-Pats have always been a rivalry but as mentioned, Brady was taunting the Jets during that 45-3 win on MNF. Rex pointed to how Tomlin ran every play in the second half in a blowout loss he suffered to them as a Raven, which is respectable and so he is treated as such.
As others have said, what's the point of talking trash. These are without a doubt the two best teams in the AFC and the play on the field Sunday will prove who is worthy of the AFC slot in the Super Bowl. I couldn't be more proud of the fact it's your team and mine fighting it out for a shot at the Lombardi Trophy. Both our defenses are just sick. Football the way it was meant to be played.
I agree (somewhat). I really think our O-Line gets it done against the Steelers, and we will run the ball much better than anyone expects. No need to motivate them. They still have a great D, so do we, and I gotta think the game will come down to a turnover I think turnovers will be the keys in both games Sunday. There's definitely gonna be a goat in the AFCCG, just not a green and white one.
No trash talk! Just the Steelers cruising along to their prestigious 7th Lombardi at the hands of that fruity little QB Aaron Rodgers, and his roided up cast of Fudge Packers!!!!!!
I think the strength of this team is built on hate... Rex is amazing at making the Jets HATE the team they play against... I hope he's doing something behind closed doors because judging by the interviews there isn't much hate flowing atm. Still I'm giving them thebenefit of the doubt... they earned it.
