Yup. Post Championship, 1.Last Night. (The look on Buck Frady's face after he started getting ht was priceless) 2. Monday Night Miracle 3.41-0 on Manning...in 2002 (Media Coverage was about as even as this week) 4.Jacksonville 1998 divisional Round.
In my 50th year and a long suffeing Jet fan for 30 of these, this win last night was the greatest Jet day in my life so far.
I made the trip up to Foxboro. It was worth every penny and the 12 hours on a bus just to see the looks of disbelief/pain on patsy fans in the upper deck. The level of hubris/obnoxiousness in the majority of fans i encountered cannot be overstated. They threw bottles, elbows, tried to trip people in our group. I was asked by six different patriot fans "Why did you bother to make the trip at all?" They could not even conceive of the possibility of a loss. This is the sweetest win i have ever witnessed. MN Miracle now slides to a distant second. The wild celebration with hundreds of euphoric Jet's fans on the Gillette stadium concourse in front of a few remaining patsy fans - one of the greatest football moments i have ever experienced. Jets baby!
I'm 26 years of age myself. Been a Jets fan since 95, may have missed 4 Jet games at most since then, and believe it or not... I've actually enjoyed plenty of Jet wins during the playoffs, as well as heart breakers such as Denver in 98, Steelers in 04, Colts of last year to name a few. It's hard for me to rank this game ahead of last weeks Colts win. Down 2 with 50 seconds left, and we win the game with a game winning fg with 0:00 left on the clock? That win tasted just as good as this one, which also feels great.
I'm only in my 20's but this was easily the most satisfying win that any of the sports teams I root for has ever had.
I wasn't born until the 80's, so in my mind, no question. It was very similar to what I have seen on Superbowl III thought, So much talk leading up to it, so many haters. Nothing in recent memory compares to that for me though. Anything else is bonus for me.
I don't remember the SB as I was just 2 yrs old. I pretty much remember everything from 1970 on. I think last night was my favorite Jets win ever in my life that I can actually remember. Beating a heavily favored BB pats team to go to the AFCCG after they had danced and trash talked and run up the score on us a month ago - That was my favorite Jets Win ever.
I am 83 and Woody is 0-12 bringing the VLT to the NYJ. I am so miserable that no game means anything other than SBIII and no other season successful since...... I love being a curmudgeon.1 Ok Yes this is the best win I have ever seen...............
I've seen more exciting games and more complete performances, but given what was at stake, the opponent and the recent history, plus the fact that nobody (in the media) gave the Jets a chance, this is the most satisfying win I've ever witnessed. The Wild Card victory in 1986 was similar, the Wild Card win in 2002 was like a dream, but this one, to advance to the AFC championship game for the second straight year, was the best.
Biggest playoff win in my lifetime before last night's game (I wasn't alive when the Jets won SB III in 1969) was the defeat of the Radiers in 1982 (Jets 17 - Raiders 14), the game before the infamous Mud Bowl in Miami for the conference championship game. Last year, I truly felt like we were playing with house money throughout. THIS, going in as heavy underdogs, given the history between the Jets and the Pats, absolutely punching this team and their smug quarterback in the mouth, befuddling their genius head coach, and unquestionably beating them on their own turf, this is the tops. That said, hopefully this game slips from 1st place to 3rd place in my book by the time this season ends.
Beating the Steelers in the AFCCG would be #3 for me. Right now it's... 1. Last night 2. MNM 3. Last week
