Looking forward to seeingto the first of many Jet's Superbowls of my life, how banged up are these guys on the Steelers ? Polamalu looked like dogshit vs the Ravens and was seen hurting a bit (missed some huge tackles). Big Ben was limping around favoring his one side (hopefully limiting his mobility). Another body on their offensiveline went down. While their injuries on the oline and big bens mobility should help our pass rush exponetially, With Ben and their Oline hurting and how effective we were vs Brady I dont see how our defense doesnt have a stellar game. Only reason the Ravens lost was turnovers, so for us the most important matchup is mostly gonna be Sanchez vs their defense. And if Polamalu is still hurting chances of our offense giving up any big turnovers should go down significantly (since he IS the heart and soul as well as the biggest playmaker on that defense). Weve all seen what happens to that defense without him. And after this weekend (of both teams) im convinced that its impossible for us to lose if we do not turn the ball over. So over the week im gonna be incredibly interested how these key injuries are looking. Ill also like to add on the injury front, should be nice to have Brad Smith back
honest to god, i thought the Steelers were done after halftime on Saturday. I didn't think the Ravens would hand them the game. Anyway...the Steelers oline is FUBAR...they're down to their 3rd string Tackles.
the squeelers have a lot of national mistique. beating manning, brady, and now the squeelers will be truely magical. i hope they're full strength. it sucks to beat a good team only to have others say it's only b/c so and so was out.
Troy has hit and miss games even when he is healthy. He will be practicing the entire week. Heath Miller is healthy..he didn't play last game. James Harrison is healthy..he had been sick the entire week before Steelers played Jets previously. Bryant McFadden's hamstring has healed..He is healthy. I think it is laughable that you say the only reason the Ravens lost were turnovers. The Ravens had 130 yards TOTAL offense. Steelers defense dominated..and if it wasn't for a fluke play..the fumble/touchdown, the Steelers would have blown the Ravens out even after falling behind early. This game will come down to the QB play. Neither team will be able to run the ball. And Big Ben is not rattled by pressure..unlike Brady..he had his nose broken in the game in Baltimore and still won the game. It will come down to the last 5 minutes.
The Steelers head coach expects everyone on the roster to perform at a high standard. This team has made it to 13-4 with mostly this same offensive line all year long. Ben has played with a broken nose and foot, and still moves around well. If you guys think the injuries are going to lead to an easy win, I think you are mistaken.
Actually we are pretty healthy. Only person that hasn't been healthy is Troy, and he will have another week to heal up.
I dont think anyone can say that after what we did to the Pats. They were pretty damn healthy and we put a beating on them. And hell odds are after beating the 3 of the best qbs of all time (at least as far as winning is concerned ben is up there) were gonna have to go beat the best qb/turnover forcing defense in the nfc.
I agree and I hope we exploit it... but it didn't play that bad vs us did it? SOmeone else missing from that game?
Fluke play ? It was a sack fumble, their pass rush was all over Big Ben all day. And how many of your points came off of the Ravens offense being terrible ? Not your defense making big plays (which they have all season) but the Ravens offense just looking like shit. That one ball just went FLYING out of Rices hands, their WRs dropped WIDE OPEN game changing passes (that were on their money and IN THEIR HANDS), Flacco threw some god awful ints, or their was that great defense play you guys made where you guys got Flacco to fumble the snap. Your team has played tough and is a helluva team all year, that said beating the Ravens absolutely positively was a GIFT.
And again...this is the same o-line we've had all year and we've managed to get 13 wins with it. It's not always pretty but the Steelers have overcome it pretty often this year.
Using your logic, I saw a lot of dropped passes by the Patriots today. One of them for a touchdown. Was that a gift from the Patriots or shall we use my logic and say the better team won, just like the Steelers were the better team and beat the Ravens. That ball went flying out of Rice's hands because Ryan Clark stripped it. That's called making a play on defense.
Ravens offense was terrible because of our defense. Ryan Clark RIPPED the ball out of Rice's hands. It was a STRIP. Ray Rice didn't just drop it for no reason. Don't even give me that it was not a fluke play. 21 out of 22 people thought it was an incomplete pass. I have never seen that happen before in a game where everyone thought the play was dead when the ball flew forward. That was a fluke. The Steelers could have easily recovered it..our offensive lineman looked at the ball and turned aroumd./
Yep.....and as you know..the offense line takes a lot of heat when it is not entirely their fault..Ben holds onto the ball longer than any other QB..if he released it as fast as Brady/Brees, our line would be praised for being decent.
This is going to be a tough game for the Jets. We won't be able to run the ball as easily. The offense has its work cut out for it. This is a tough team no matter who they have out there. I'm feeling a lot better about the Jets after today though.
I guess the Pats 3rd TE dropping a single pass is the same thing as your #1 and #3 wrs dropping wide open passes they got both hands on all day. Im not discrediting the Steelers season, theres luck involved in every game but the Ravens were just atrocious all game. Passes waaaaaaaaaay off for ints, fumbled snaps, not covering your wrs on 4th and a mile, the Ravens offense was truly awful looking. And much of your offense came off of them simply playing shitty.
