eh truck was the wrong word. thats what shonn green does. but keller does lower his shoulder pad into dbacks.
I think unlike for some others there's a pretty consistent consensus among Jet fans about Keller. Above average, can break out but usually doesn't, a bit of a disappointment, but he would be more of one except we realize Sanchez is probably not making the most of Keller's presence. That and I think also that Holmes and Edwards are better targets, so Keller is the option less often. That about covers it.
That's not the case at all. They got away from calling his number but now they're back to making sure he gets targets. Whether he catches them or not isn't really the issue, as long as we show he will be a threat they will be forced to deal with him. The Pats can't cover our WRs and Keller, something has to give. Even when he was only targeted 4 times, he caught 3 of them. Keller needs to be targeted around 10 times.
Like Keller don't like Keller, I could care less. The fact is teams are focusing on Keller and pretty much covering Holmes and Edwards one on one. Second fact is that it has been an effective strategy.
If the Jets pull this one off, i have this feeling it will be becasue of braylon hauling in a couple of TD's. I'm all for time possession and establishing the run game, keeping it out of brady's hands, etc., etc. etc., but leading in time possession is only good if you capitalize with some points to go with it, and i don't mean field goals. braylon is gonna score twice.
I with you on Edwards being a key. I know that guy came in with a rep but he plays all out. He plays all out and is the best receiver blocker on the team. I'm not as sold on Holmes. Obviously has had key catches and has a lot of talent but just doesn't seem to be all in like Edwards seems to be. I also think it is interesting that New England's offense took off when they got rid of Moss and ours tanked when we got Holmes off suspension. Don't exactly know what to think of that.
Well that's just completely false, yeah he's had some key drops but also some key game winning catches.
I think I acknowledged that when I said he had some big catches but it is simply a fact that our offense has performed worst on average since he returned. That is a statistical fact. 4-1 with 27 points per game before. 6-4 with 17 points per game after against an easier schedule ( taking out 2nd Buffalo game in averages. w/ that game 19 pt avg). I'm not pointing the finger at him as he is obviously talented but the offense has been worse with him whatever the reason.
I think J-Co will be our X-factor on offense. He has had some pretty big games against the Pats in the past.
I have no doubt Edwards will show up to play. For all of Holmes's great plays this year, Edwars has contributed consistently when the Jets go to him. The real question is whether Sanchez can get him the ball.
the xfactor will be sanchez, no ifs, ands or buts about it. sanchez has to step up big or it will be a loss!
Aww, that's so cute that you have my post in your sig joesmoe. Not sure what you're trying to prove since I never said anything definitive one way or the other.
I remember when we won the 2009 game with Favre, Keller was huge in OT. The Patriots like to drop back in Cover 2 and that leaves them exposed some of the dink and dunk routes underneath.
I was going to say, Keller seems to crumple on the first tackle. I can't remember the last time he pulled a Tony Richardson or Shonn Greene and bowled people over. You touch him and he caves. I'm disappointed in Keller for that. For a TE, he needs to be more physical after the catch for my money.
Good point, I'm getting tired of him diving in the air twisting around like a Olympic diver. I don't recall him doing that last year unless he was diving for the EZ.
