Grew up watching Tooooooooon! Gotta stick with him and Walker. Al could have been one of the greats of his time if he could have only avoided some of those concussions. If only they knew then what they know now about the prevention and recovery of concussions, his whole career could have been different.
That was essentially Moss' rookie year(he missed nearly all of '01- his real rookie year) and he only had about 30 recs. Coles was gone after that season so they never had a chance to become a duo although they would have been in the discussion.
Haha I know. They would have been deadly. I still have that game in 02' in Foxboro at night with the snow flurries in my head
That was a great game, that was athe first of 3 straight weeks of incredible play by that team beating up Brady and NE then Favre and GB finishing up w/ Manning and Indy.
I still remember Chrebet scoring against GB, he just caught the ball and ran right up the middle of the field and probably one of the fondest memories of being a Jets fan I have from when I was younger is that Richie Anderson screen pass against Indy. I lived in Indiana at the time and that moment was classic sitting in a sports bar full of Colts fans.
Tooooooon and Welker were the classic, big possession and track star with hands combo that WAS the era of the 80’s. Add in Jo-Jo Townsell and Mick Shuler and that’s potent. Too ban Kenny didn’t stay heathly…
toon and walker, to say holmes and edwards would be a little premature as we dont even know if they will play together for more than 1 year at this point.
Shame that Coles and Moss didn't really get to play together. Two speed demons that were held back by a noodle arm.
