Cakes: Mike, that supposed 565-footer by Mantle was not hit in Yankee Stadium. It was hit in Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C.

Mike: Waitasecond. Well, waitasecond here. Dat homa was hit in Yankee Stadium. I was dare. Mink, it was in Yankee Stadium, right?

Minko: Yes, I believe you're right, Mike.

Mike: It was in Yankee Stadium. It was hit off Chuck Stobbs. I rememba it. I was in da buildin'.

    Cakes, that's funny because when
I was a kid either my grandfather or my father told me the "ball hit off the facade of Yankee stadium."

Here's an interesting read about the actual distance Mantle's ball would have traveled (probably not 565 feet but don't tell Fatcesa):

I love how when someone asked him why the Jets avoid him, he ORGINALLY said that the Jets have an agreement to completely block WFAN. But then someone brought up that the Jets are sometimes on other shows on WFAN and he quickly changed his story to that they only avoid him because of the agreement.

It's to bad that Jet fans will never be able to sound off on his show... we should all call in to the other shows with thanks and praise for the great Jets coverage. WFAN will get the point.
