When I read the subject I assumed it was directed toward burning those shitty duckboats that the Boston teams ride on during their championship parades. Hell why not burn those too rex?
Great article. Ryan is developing into a good HC and a good leader. the Burn the Boat strategy is a great analogy to use in that situation.
And to you I say really??? You want wins and style points? I'll take ugly wins over pretty losses any day. And a string of (ugly) wins is an issue?????? Been a Jets fan long???? I can't remember too many strings of ugly wins nor would I get "upset" over it being an issue. In the NFL, the competition is so close most wins are ugly and come down to a play here or there. Do you consider the Ravens, Packers, Bears, and Dolphins wins over the Jets ugly wins for those teams? Because each of those teams could have easily lost to the Jets in those games.
Yes - beating the Steelers in December on the Road with playoff implications on the line = SIGNATURE WIN. Ugly wins and pretty wins all count as wins the last time I checked. Beating Pitts on the road was a HUGE WIN for the Jets - first ever win in PA. You need to get over worrying about ugly wins. Wins are wins my friend. We will all take 4 more ugly wins if thats what it takes to win the SB.
I would agree it is a better win than some of those worse teams that we played. I just find it a disturbing trend that we are experiencing down the stretch of this season. Week to week we are seeing different units disappear. Sometimes the whole team for most of the game. It doesn't leave me with a lot of confidence going into the playoffs. Hopeful, but not confident.
I'm not looking for style points... I'm looking for this team to play consistently. Consistently well that is. Play to its ability and not necessarily down to its competition. Save the Steelers in that.. they are a solid top team.
the timing between this speech and the boards motif is nearly perfect. [conspiracy] Rex reads the board for speech material [/conspiracy]
