Why don't the Jets ever wear their "80's" style jersey as a throwback?

I'm surprised to hear that so many people love the 80s/90s uniforms. I mean, I guess it would be cool to see it again for nostalgic value, but you do realize that those uniforms were straight-up ass right?

 

oh no this is awful. Those uniforms symbolize abject failure. They stink like wet fart. And they look like Mickey Mouse, man. The Jets were a laughingstock in those.

Doesn't anyone remember the bad old days? I was hoping I'd never see them again.

 

yeah its a Photoshop file. I originally made the logo's in paths so they can be used at any resolution. This one i just mixed the two together in a photoshop file.

 

I see your point, but personally i love those Uniforms. They were the Uni when i first started supporting the Jets and love them. Im really glad they will be making an appearance and i hope we can show them how a team wins in those uni's

but it was not all bad back then, just mostly

 

Some pretty good offensive and defensive players wore those jersey's. I'm all for it.

 

Exactly how I feel. And ya know what? The jets had a few playoff seasons wearing those uni's...so it wasn't all bad.

Nice work! Very cool. I like the old uniforms for nostalgic value but theres no way they beat our current/original uniforms. Would love seeing them as a throwback though. One at home and one away.

 

We were worse in the 60s and 70s uni's. In those 80s uni's we did make 4 postseasons in 6 years. Actually in those unforms which we wore from 1978-1989(they tweaked them adding black in 1990- THOSE were the loser uniforms) the Jets made 4 playoff apps and only had 5 losing seasons.

Those uniforms were terrible, only the logo was good.

 

it's probably b/c I grew up watching them in those uni's but I love them. I would love the current darker green w/ the 80s style uniform.

 

Old Uni's are usually the best. No exception when it comes to the Jets. Loved the 80's Kelly Green.

Pats red throwbacks are better than current



Bills Throwbacks are better than current



Tampa Bay Throwbacks are better than current


etc. etc. etc.

 

The Titans uniforms are awful...it only serves as a reminder of the Brett Favre Era (error)...

 

Really nice job there. Would love this to see something like this become the Jets logo.

 

Parcells killed the 80-90 unis in a sincere effort to kill the SOJ. leave it alone. pleeeeease.

dont look in the closet...you wont like what you find.

 

Although I dislike both Titans and 80's throwback Jets unis, I will say that the 80's ones better looking.

 

Cause those things are fucking ugly. I can't blame em
