Thanks for the info...as I now know that there is no real way to tell until Sunday, I do think that the Jets are still a big draw nationally and will get a shot at one of the Sunday games...based on the posts, that is, indicating that the Saturday games are less desirable.
If the Eagles lose tonight, as they're down 17-7 right now I would guess that the Eagles-Packers/Giants game will be the Saturday late game. I would think this means that the Jet game will be the early Saturday game and the Colt/Raven will be on Sunday and the time will be based upon who wins the Rams/Seahawks (NFC West) game.
I would guess packers-Eagles would be the Sat night game and we'll get the 4:30 slot again on Saturday.
Rex Ryan stated today during his press conference that "we will probably play on Saturday." I dont know what that means but thought I would post it here.
If we play the Chiefs we will play on Saturday early. Packers/Eagles will be the Saturday night Saints vs Rams/Seahawks will be sunday at 3, the Ravens/Colts sunday night. Also I like us playing first, I just want this game to get done so then I can enjoy the rest of the games. The Jets/Chargers game last year had me nervous as hell, we were the last game.
I have a effin' trade show I have to work on Saturday - I am going to be some pissed if I have to miss the game. Soxx, I noticed that you are from Newburgh - I live in Wallkill. Reppin' the 6th borough. hahaha
All I ask is no 4:15 Saturday start.... I only say this because NBC had the absolutely audacity to throw down the horrific announcer duo of Joe Gibbs AND Joe Theismann during last year. My god that Jets/Bengals game was borderline insanity to listen to. If NBC can like put the damn Notre Dame duo of Hammond and Mayock, alright we're in business because they are great but if Theismann is calling the game.......... EDIT: Tiki Barber as the sideline reporter during that playoff game......*shivers*
BTW if I am to guess based on appeal.... Saturday 4PM- Saints/NFC West winner (Its the biggest mismatch of the games and they usually like to throw the least appealing game up 1st) Saturday 8PM- Jets/Chiefs (2nd most unappealing game to the media......and usually the AFC and NFC rotate the two games played on Saturday if I recall right) Sunday 1PM- Ravens/Colts (CBS gets 1st dibs of which of the 2 AFC games they'd want if I remember....and yeah Peyton vs Ray Lewis and that D sells it to them to make that choice) Sunday 4PM- Packers/Eagles (Same with FOX getting 1st dibs of which of the 2 NFC games they'd like....Mike Vick and that offense vs the big fanbase of GB with a just as high potent offense too makes this easy pickings for FOX) Bold are the teams CBS/FOX would side with. If JAX makes it as AFC South winner though and PIT holds onto the no.2 seed....then Jets/Chiefs gets bumped to Sunday and Jags are hosting that night game because CBS would want to work with the NY market.
Hope we're on NBC they have the best coverage out of all the networks but the chances we get Al and Chris are slim to none
AFC & NFC rotate the div rd prime time game so FOX and CBS get one every other year(they also rotate time of conf title game- if we make it again this years game will be in the 6:30 time slot) but I do not believe they rotate the porime time game in the WC round b/c NBC has both games so they just choose which they think is the better game for prime time. It will be a shocker if we are not playing at 4:30 on Saturday.
I think the only way we're not playing on 4:30 on Saturday would be if the seahawks beat the Rams for the division.
Definitely not on Tuesday- Here is what I found, AFC Sat., Jan. 08 TBD TBD Sun., Jan. 09 TBD TBD SO it looks like it could be Saturday, if not, definitely on Sunday.
If I were a betting man, I'd say maybe a Friday, under the lights but not a Monday. A nice Wednesday game at 10 AM would be different.
As long as it isn't Sat night, I'm happy. My wife's playgroup friends schedule a post-Christmas party every friggin' wildcard weekend. I've successfully done the DVR route in the past, but it makes me super uncomfortable.
It seems like we always play the first or second game in the playoffs. I F#$King hate that! Just once I'd like to be able to enjoy the other games, and get into the flow of the playoffs before my team plays. These Saturday games suck
My opinion... Seahawks wins they play first game Sat. Indy is not what they usually are they play Sat night. We play first game Sunday. Eagles- Pack Sunday night.
the Rams/Seahawks winner has to be playing the earliest game on Saturday. that is easily the least interesting game. especially if seattle pulls it out. charlie whitehurst and the great seahawks led by leon washington on special teams! at least the rams have bradford you can look forward to watching.
