Cromartie has been solid, but nothing great. He gets burned by the faster, quicker guys all day, like Mike Wallace. But he's definitely been a solid #2 cb, no doubt about that.

Who cares if Tannenbaum gave up a 2nd for 1 year of Cromartie, it helped get them on the back covers of the paper...wasnt that what this season was all about. Not bulding teams or depth for the future, but getting names tanny heard of.

We draft a corner in the first...lets tell everyone your brother wanted this guy and he was the best corneback in the draft. Much better then Haden or McCourty. O yeah he's behind cro and revis (lets fail to mention the other bums who are also ahead of him). Lets draft a running back with no heart because he was once the top HS player. Lets trade leon to essentially get a backup FB, keep calling him the terminator on HBO then realize he cant pass a 40 year old on the depth chart.

The future depth on this team is not all that promising. Thanks tannenbaum.
Next years draft we get to see the pats pick 3 times in the 15-33 range, then at the end of the second and begining of the 3rd (Moss Trade). So pats will have possibly picked 5 high draft picks, where in the same span the jets will most likely have had one and cromartie will most likely be on another roster. They will have McCourty and Bodden next year where The Jets may have Wilson and Revis.

This was the year we were suppose to make the move while the Pats rebuilt. They rebuilt insanly quick and their draft poops all over ours.

I don't care how many moves a team makes, the Patriots have Tom Brady, he more than compensates for any moves New England makes, good or bad.

Lito Sheppard is nowhere near as good as Cromartie. Also, both of those guys have been picked on a lot more than they would have been were they not playing opposite Revis; Sheppard got the advantage of an effective pass rush and still wasn't as good as Cromartie. There's a reason that Sheppard is the fourth corner on the Vikings' depth chart and Cro is a starter.

Honestly, can anyone tell me the last time we had a #2 corner as good as Cromartie?

Overrated, are you fucking kidding me? Do you expect him to shut out every single receiver and let up no catches? Get real. He's been outstanding this season. That was a perfect throw by Cutler to Knox and Cro was right there.

With those picks you must be in the media.

    tier 1: revis
    tier 1A: asomugha, haden, mccourty
tier 2: cromartie, finnegan, jammer, a samuel, c bailey

Samuel does not make tackles. Especially if it's a big running back.

Haven't read through the thread, but yes he is definitely overrated. Gets beat way too much. Is good at covering one-trick ponies like "go route Randy Moss," but he can't cover a good route running receiver for his life.

It's not fair to compare him to Revis but a top corner in this league shouldn't routinely be getting torched week after week. He has not had a good year despite the reputation that he has.

Lito wasn't more talented but he had a MUCH better year.

 shut out? I'd be happy w/ him if he held WRs to "only" 60 yards and a TD. he's getting burned every week. he has NOt been good for us.

We allowed EIGHT TDs as a defense last year, this year w/ a game to play we have allowed TWENTY FOUR. Obviously that's not all on Cromartie but we know Revis hasn't been giving up big plays since early in the year and if Cro was as good as som think he is that # wouldn't be anywhere near 24.

Oh and last year the D faced 501 attempts and allowed 8 TDs through the air, this year the D has faced 501 attempts and allowed those 24.

Week after week, no matter who he is on he is consistently getting beat,

I guess this is where you and the others who are saying his overrated get that notion from. I don't see him as a top corner in the league. I see him as one of the best #2's in the league but not a top corner. For what I see him as he has done a very good job.

Junc, what do you think he's giving up per game? What games are you watching? It's rarely Cro who's the one getting lit up dude.

A top #2 shouldn't be getting beat as consistently as he's been beaten as well. I think he is an average #2 but have you seen some of the other posts saying he is one of the best CBs in the league? I just wonder what some people have been watching?

I think you might be overstating just how much he has gotten beat this season. I would need to see some accurate breakdown of the yards and td's he has given up in man coverage all year to determine if I am overrating him a bit or if you are underrating him a bit. Either way we are pretty close to seeing him the same way so it's not a big deal.

The people who are saying he is a top CB in the league are incorrect.

What games are you watching Junc?

    Code:
Name TA Rec Cmp% Yds Avg YAC LG TD Int PD NFL Rating
    Antonio Cromartie	101	45	44.6	645	14.3	189	43	7	3	12	76.5
    Darrelle Revis 57	22	38.6	369	16.8	132	35	3	0	10	78.8
    Lito Sheppard 32	19	59.4	272	14.3	74	46	4	0	5	126.6 (only 200 snaps)

Cro Per Game	TA Rec Yds TD Int PD
    		6.7	3	43	.5	.2	.8

You act like he's giving up 100 yards and a TD every game. His opposing QB rating is actually better than Revis'. He's doing much better than what you say "you'd be happy with", so what gives?

Please tell us some of the #2 CB's you'd prefer over Cromartie if he's doing so terrible.
