for the offense I would nominate mark sanchez for the defense I would nominate sione Pouha For the offensive award I would suggest namath for the defensive award I would suggest klecko
Honestly, what has Revis done to be D POY for the Jets? He held out, which caused a major distraction for the entire pre season, which hurt the team. Then he got hurt because of he was out of shape from the holdout and it hurt the team. Then when he came back he was less than 100% and that hurt the team. Since he has been healthy he has 0 interceptions and does not always cover the opponent's top receiver. He is not even close to being the D MVP. I vote for Harris on D Sanchez gets the vote on offense. He has been incredibly clutch this year. ST - Weatherford. He will not get any accolades, but those who have watched the Jets this year have seen him put about 20 punts inside the 10 yard line and he has only 1 or 2 touchbacks.
I think there should be an O, D, and ST MVP because after all you need 3 complete phases to win a game. O-Brad Smith D-Jim Leonhard (it has unfortunately become pretty obvious that he is the most valuable player on defense) ST-Brad Smith
O - D'Brick D - David Harris ST - Steve Weatherford If we are doing an STMVP, might I suggest calling it the Bruce Harper Award?
O is hard for obvious reasons, but I'll go with Sanchez. D is definitely Harris. ST is Weatherford, although Brad Smith is a good choice too (these are only nominations, so I'll put in two). I strongly support Maynard for the name of the offensive award and Klecko for the name of the defensive award.
D - Bart Scott - Surprised to Scott getting no love. Watch him play a complete game, he makes things so much easier for this defense blowing up blockers all over the place, giving Harris and the other linebackers clear shots at the ball carrier. My only issue with Scott is that he hasn't made many impact plays this year, but he is still solid week to week. O - Holmes has been a huge difference maker a few weeks, and his quickness has given Sanchez those quick hit plays over the middle which had been missing from his game, but I still have to give the overall offensive MVP to Mangold. He's played lights out when healthy, and he's the key to the success of our offensive line.
D-Harris O-Sanchez ST-Weatherford- If we do a ST award it should be Weatherford hands down, the guy has been lights out for most of the season. Especially considering how mediocre he was last season.
1. One winner, our MVp has Been Mark Sanchez. 2. Joe Klecko, the best player in Jets history. 3. one winner 4. Tie- Weatherford/Smith
