To start the season the Jets had Edwards, Cotchery and Brad Smith as WR's. At the end of the Ravens Game when they were attempting to move the ball down the field quickly they had those 3 guys plus Woodhead at WR and it looked pretty ugly. Rex said they needed another WR for situations like that and Woodhead lost out to the numbers game. How that gets made into the Jets choosing David Clowney over Woodhead I don't know. Oh wait, actually I do know how that happens. Emotional attachment to a player that reminds fans of themselves.
If McKnight wasn't in game shape and couldn't grasp where to be in a play, it doesn't matter how fast he is. Then New England, like us, would have little use for him.
LOL Dudley... I've been sniffin Woodhead's jock from day one. My opinion hasn't changed, and that goes back to well beore McKnight was even drafted. The guy just racked up over a HUNDRED yards on a handful of touches against us! And he is being used far more than Faulk ever was by NE. He plays ant down, any situation in a time share with BJGE. Heck, he even gets a couple of short yardage carries. Faulk was far more one dimensioinal and no where near as fast as Woodhead. How many big plays did Faulk ever have? He was a third down RB and had good hands, other than that, Faulk was almost useless. McKnight is the next coming of Vernon Gholston, but at least he wasn't a wasted first round pick.
I love it when fans think they know what kind of shape someone is in or how well someone knows a playbook. Omgz he puked in training camp!!1! He looks like he's in fine shape when he gets in on special teams. Let's keep pretending NE wouldn't be interested in a guy with almost identical skills/speed. It makes it sound so much more warranted when we whine about Woodhead.
Sure a glad we got rid of that Deadwood... er, I mean Woodhead kid. Like Mr Electric said, he didn't have the talent to be an NFL player. That Electric guy sure is smart.
Go fuck yourself. If Woodhead was still on the Jets, he'd be a special teamer and that's it. He had no place on this team.
You're right. He would have been useless. And we here in New England thank you for that. Foxy sarcasm off
Me too but between the doucher Jets fans and the even douchier Pats fans I find myself very close to hoping he snaps his leg in half.
Anyone else think it's funny that Woodhead's facial hair actually makes him look more like a 14 year old?
If we still had Danny Woodhead... 1) Pat Turner would have been cut, 2) Jim Leonhard would still be healthy, 3) Tony Richardson, drunk, celebrating homefield advantage, would have raped and murdered a young girl, 4) But that girl was the next Hitler! hmy:
the fact of the matter is, Woodhead is a result of the system and frankly we are all fed up with the Pats always making us look bad. This won't change anytime soon, we're going to have to deal with it, but trust me their will be a decade or two where the Pats will flat out stink and will be the laughing stock of the league, this may only happen when Brady is gone, but it will happen.
I call bullshit on that theory. Face it, given his age, price and versatility, Woodhead is today better than what should have been expected of LT. Because, gotta face it, LT is DONE. Was done. Bad call. It was a name over effectiveness decision, not unlike other roster decisions Tannenbaum made, which didn't at all lead to better play. Are you a Jets fan? then repeat, 'Tannenbaum must go'. Even moreso than Ryan, his mouth, and his wife's toes and public pussy shots, Tannenbaum must go.
