The Jets are the 6th most penalized team in the NFL.

    Miami is 31st
    NE is 27th
    Buffalo is 26th

Fine. We know the Jets have gotten alot of calls against them. But this is stat is crazy:

The Jets have the LEAST penalties in the NFL called against their opponets.

And the biggest winner of the most penalties called on their opponets? The biggest ref bashers: Baltimore

Yea it always seems that with every team we played against they were able to play clean penalty-free ball and frankly its frustrating.

I was very surprised to see NE Rank near the bottom on opponents flagged against.

Wow, that really says a lot.

If you look at every team's board, their are always tons of fans complaining about a lack of calls.

I wasn't sure if I was being biased or we really were getting screwed over, I'm glad to see the stats that back it up.

    Ridiculous

A .3 difference is the 2nd biggest jump between 2 places on that list.

The Jets are flagged a lot because we commit a lot of penalties... now I gripe about a few of them but to act like the Jets are innocent is silly because we do play downright stupid sometimes.

I take more issue with the flags that aren't thrown against our opponents. My biggest gripe of the season was those 2 "interceptions" by the Packers. I can live with bad calls because quite honestly I expect them but those 2 plays really sent me off a ledge.

it may already have been talked about on here, but when i watched the replays of Sanchez's TD run against Pitt, the O-lineman running/blocking for him defenitly tried to trip the pursuing players. He dove in front of one rusher then tried to kick up his leg to trip the guy. glad it wasn't called back!

That's the way I read it too. If you rank them on penalty yards, the Jets defence drops to 9th in the league which suggests that the penalties that we are getting called on is less neutral zone infractions etc and more personal fouls, roughing and PI calls.

Slightly off-topic, but I have question regarding the noncall on Lowery last night.

Did Lowery quickly grab and let go of the WR before Ben threw the ball? If so, then that would've been ruled Defensive Holding, right? And Defensive Holding is less yards than Pass Interference, right?

If this is the case, then it still wouldn't have been an automatic or easy TD for the Steelers, which is how the missed call is being portrayed today (just heard them discuss it on PTI too, saying Interference should've been called).

This website is great. Look at the side on the right, you can sort all the different penalty categories, I.E. Penalty Yards Per Game, Opponent First Down Penalties Per Game...

It seems like Cromartie gets penalized at least once a game. Slauson too, except I thought it was great after Slauson got the first penalty yesterday and Sanchez had a word with him after. Slauson did not commit a penalty the rest of the game if I recall. Go Sanchez

Yes, I saw that too. IIRC that was Turner on the play. I was shocked that the Refs didn't call him for trying to trip the guy the way the calls have been going against us this year.

Defensive holding is only 5 yards. Not sure if the ball had already been thrown or not.

What I find funny about this is that nothing is said about the 1st down that was gift wrapped for Pitt by the refs when it was actually short by at least a yard. That was a TD drive that if correctly called would have resulted in a 4th down. But of course nothing is said about that.

It was yet again a very poorly officiated game and BOTH teams got bad calls or non calls. So anyone that wants to single out that one play can go pound sand for all I care.

There have been posts about the Patriots offensive line holding on almost ever play without ever getting called. Do you think that is true? If it is then the Patriots are heavily favored by the refs even though that doesn't show up in the stats.

Guys who complain about offensive line holding are just complaining for the sake of it.

dude, read the first part of your post again. I dont care if "there have been posts about it". Do you seriously think there is a hold on ever Pats play and the refs purposely dont call it? I mean do you REALLY believe that?

Not on every play. Have you ever seen the Pats getting called for OL? I haven't.
