My DVR is on the blink, so I can't slo-mo the plays on my HiDef.... (1) How close was the ball to getting to the WR on the next-to-last play ? (2) On the last play: if the WR catches the ball upon initial contact (no juggling or pop-out and re-attempt at catch), was he in bounds to make a good TD catch ? Thanks....watched the plays plenty of times on the shows tonite, but not slo-mo shots at all.
1) Looked very close it just went through his hands 2) He would have been out of bounds even if he did catch it. His momentum was too strong and when the ball arrived he already had one foot out of the endzone
Also...just saw the play on the Pitt WR in the EZ.....he was FALLING before Lowery or whoever got into his shirt....no way he catches the ball...so no PI since the ball was uncatcheable (unless the guy grows 3 feet instantly).
The 1st through should have been a TD, we got extremely lucky there, the 2nd one had no chance even if caught. Nah that was PI or best case defensive holding for 5 yards... we got away with that one there's no two ways about it.
My DVR is working again: We got lucky on the 1st....Rothlesberger delayed throwing......#34 on the Jets (Lowery?) does nothing but stand and then reacts like "OH S***, wheres my guy ??!!" He stands like a doofus and then sprints to the guy. We were LUCKY !! On the 2nd: Now I'm not sure....saw the CBS slo-mo angle and it looks like if he had grabbed the ball at 1st contact, he might have scored (but I can't see his feet on this angle so I'm not sure). Yeah.....agreed....but very ticky-tack.
Good play on the 2nd ball, but on that 1st one....man....we were lucky.....it was more miscommunication.
