Hey, the Pats ran on these guys and the Jets RBs are better than them. The jets just need to prove they can get something going in the air to keep them honest.
The Pats have a better Oline than us with Woody out and injuries to Slauson and Mangold. The Pats also had the threat of a potent passing game and the ability to change to the correct plays at the line. I think this game is going to turn out like several of the games this year. We're going to try to ground and pound unsuccessfully. Then Sanchez will be forced to throw the ball 35+ times. I'd rather have the team come out throwing from the beginning. Or else we're going to see a lot of 3rd and 8's.
That's why I said they should play action on early downs to start the game. Get sanchez going with quick slants and backs out of the backfield. Create a tempo. That seems to be when Sanchez is at his best IMO.
We can gain big chunks simply by running backwards in the wrong direction. if we run into the wrong EZ every time, sure we give up 2 pts but we avoid the pick 6 so in my book were gain 5 pts every series. i should be the head coach.
So the O-line is hurting, pass protection has been shit the last few weeks. Sanchez has shit the bed and been a complete retard since the Thanksgiving game. That means he is going to pass the ball 55 times tomorrow............................Mark it down.
Run Greene a lot and keep them on their heels with the no huddle hurry up offense. Then kill them midway through the 3rd with Smith going down field with the throw. Make fucking teams respect the fucking pass when Mr Everything is in the game and that will open up the offense even more. In conclusion run the ball, hurry up offense and respect the fact that Smith can kick your ass with the pass. Oh what am I saying just win the fucking game Jets.
The only kind of running the Jets are going to do is enough to keep the defense honest. You have to hand the ball off enough so Woodley and Harrison can't pin their ears back. But the reality of the situation is this, the Jets aren't a great running team, and the Steelers are great against the run. If the Jets want to win this game it's going to be a matter of getting the ball in the hands of their best players (Edwards, Holmes, and Keller) and that part is going to be up to Sanchez. Like it or not, this team needs him to step up right now.
not sure if this will matter but i'm sure pitt is DETERMINED not to let santonio holmes beat them. maybe they'll overplay santonio to the point where keller cotch and braylon get a lot of one on one. plus the safety they normally play in the box against the run may be redirected in cover 2 to keep santonio quiet. just a thought.
2 ways 1- Extra lineman/TE 2- Effective Play action Pass 3- Spread them out on 1st down....every once in a while just to break the predictability....other than that it's #1 ^^ ok I said 2. :breakdance:
To be able to run on Steelers. you have to first be able to pass on the steelers. after you do that, than you willl be able to run. See patriots. you try and come out running the football and expect alot of three and outs.
heavy sets, go out there with an extra OL (vlad?) lined up at TE and spread the WRs out. pass out of that formation a couple times, run it, play-action passes. there are a lot of possibilities and it could keep the Steelers honest. If they load the box, pass or PA. If they spread out to cover the WRs, overpower them in the trenches and and run it
Fuck their stat, run straight at them. Run, if we get stopped a few times, RUN, RUN, RUN it at them, and throw in some play actions. This is all on Shittinheimer. Relax, and control the damn game.
