Made this duplicate post in another thread, meant to make a new thread.... He's been awfully quiet this year, stats-wise. Does he even have an INT or deflected pass yet? What's happening?
I'm thinking, is there any other way in which we can utilize Revis' skills to a greater degree? Perhaps blitz him or drop him back into zone coverage? He's a great tackler and has tremendous football instincts. It's a shame to see him wasted on a player that no one is throwing to.
Well you know what I mean. It's great that he can shut down the team's best receiver, but as we saw with Brady and the Pats, it doesn't work against spread schemes or teams that utilize 3-4 WR sets. The rest of our secondary is awful (outside Cro) and really can't handle a consistent man-cover scheme against top offenses.
You said it yourself OP he's been quiet. That's what you want your shutdown corner to be. INTs are harder to come by in tight man coverage. Revis is fine, I'm surprised anyone even asked. I'm more concerned about having NO safeties and NO good NBs. Lining up against teams with multiple receiver sets we're finished.
do you know what guys like Andre and Calvin Johnson do to your defensive game plan without a corner like Revis?
My head almost sploded while reading that last sentence. He is the reason nobody is throwing to the guy he is on.
I heard he was seen buying watches with a pimp. It was also reported that he was tweeting with a whore.
