LOL, oh yeah, "the call". We weren't too thrilled with it either, but I actually understood it when it was explained and, I know this won't help you, but it was called within the rules. Sucks, I know, but we've had some pretty lousy calls against us, they just don't make the news so much. We had like 13 penalties in the Oakland game, half of which were BS that the commentators were even laughing. What else can you do? Miami has always been my second fav team anyway, sister lives in Ft. Lauderdale for 30 years, mother is there now for the winter...too many family members not to mention Dan Marino!
LOL, oh God, I forgot where I was for a minute - haha. I would think Patriot hate would run deeper tho and come on now, Miami has given the Pats a few good losses too, which is always kinda fun to watch.
Rex knows the Flacco philosophy, just avoid the hair. lol Flacco said that has been his mantra ever since he's entered the league.
Actually no, the true East rivalry is Jets/Dolphins. Pats are only here for now, since the Brady era started. Once he's gone, we can concentrate fully on hating the Phins again.
Yeah, I guess that rivalry is longer. And you're right, once Brady is gone, not just the Jets, but the league on a whole will be a lot happier, lol. I don't really buy into the "genius" of Bill Belicheck and I never really thought the whole "cheating" thing was a big deal....but to call a guy a genius when he claims he didn't think his cameras were in illegal territory, come on. Now that I have a problem with. Hopefully Brady will concentrate modeling his butt chin with his model wife and they can go on their merry way living the Barbie and Ken lifestyle - GAG.
Thanks. We fans may not like each other  but the football season is getting real interesting right about now. Everybody wants their team to win but I think many Pats fans were trying to be realistic and say that maybe they'll get into the playoff but next year they could be really good and suddenly everything synced together and they are playing like the best team in the league. A lot of people in Boston are kinda stunned to be honest. Suddenly the goal for the Patriots is to get primed for the playoffs where a whole raft of teams are looking for payback. I'm sure the Steelers, the Chargers, the Jets and the Colts all want another shot at the Patriots but THIS time it will be different. It's going to be interesting... I think Bellichick is coaching his butt off and would probably win the coach of the year except it's boring and no one likes him... The biggest danger is that Ben will continue to try and play through the injuries but start making mistakes. So far he's hanging in there. It's impressive. The Steelers do have their weaknesses. The offensive line and the secondary seems on the slow side (which the Patriots exploited) but they still seem to have their act together more then the Jets. Maybe the Jets will rise to the occasion and win but I don't know.
Way too pessemistic for your game with the Steelers. For the Jets to win: Zero turnovers. That's obvious but the Pats provide the blueprint. Spread them out. The Jets don't need the full compliment just some throws and simple reads. Shorter throws should also help Sanchez with accuracy. This will also help open the run game. Lady T and Keller would be critical along with Holmes. Brad Smith needs his A game in the return game. They should also think about Smith throwing in his packages. Use Polamalu's aggressiveness against him. Wrecksy was most likely challenging the defense after Miami to get them toward turnovers. If they keep Big Ben contained (see New Orleans blueprint) they should be there. The Steelers haven't exactly been producing long TD drives on offense either. I would also point out the the beatdown the Pats administered was the result of Belichick wanting a full 60 minutes. Had he taken the same mindset earlier at Heinz, the Steeler beatdown would have been much worse. The two teams have also recently played Cincy. That provides a legit comparison of where the two offenses are.
Well I think Belchick is indeed a football genius. He's just coaching at another level this year. He's also football obsessed so I think the taping was part of his leaving no stone unturned philosophy. And yeah it seems clear Brady is going to be a fashionista after he retires. I blame Giselle obviously. "Oh Tommie, you look so pretty in those clothes and the long hair. My model friends all say they want, you know, to have the sex with you but no, no, no. Do you want to see my bum again?? Do you like these breasts? Yes?" What can you do....
I agree with everything you said. Having seen Ben personally in the office, he looks like he's been through a war, lol. He's not the only one though, so there's a lot of scratching and clawing to be done. I would elaborate, but it's time for me to leave before I'm considered on overtime and that's a HUGE NO-NO. To the Jets, Dolphins and Pats fans: Have a great evening and we'll "talk" again.
Polamalu can already see his name in lights after watching the last 2 jets performances....we can def. use that against him and we will need to if we are going to be successful
Great, so the last time you were playing at a championship level was in weeks 2, 3, and 4. Does that really inspire confidence in you? Against Detroit, Cleveland, and Houston Sanchez made some big plays at key moments, and he deserves credit for that. But that doesn't take away from the fact that he (and the whole offense) struggled for large portions of those games. I think most teams have figured out the Jets offense. They know the running game isn't what it was last year, and if you can keep Sanchez in the pocket, and force him to consistently read the defense and make good decisions/throws, he probably isn't going to have a lot of success. For the record, I'm not saying this offense is trash, or Mark Sanchez is terrible. I'm simply saying, that as a unit, they haven't shown the ability to consistently produce. They were winning games in spite of this earlier in the season, but now that is proving to be much more difficult during the home stretch.
Frink The Jets offense doesn't need to be all world. It needs to put about 16 points. Based on the Miami game, it appears Sanchez isn't consistently accurate 15 yards down the field. Spread them out with shorter passes this will open up downfield and help the run game. If your defense is as great as TGG claims, 14-16 points should be enough against the Steelers.
I think the Jets really need to mix up the run with short passes too. Get Sanchez in a rhythm again. Don't wait until it's third and long or something. Even if the run isn't initially successful, you still want the Steelers to pay attention to the run.
A few things 1) I agree 16 points should do it, and I don't think they are capeable to do even that. 2) Tough to spread them out, that would require one on one battles with Harrison and Woodley, I don't like their chances in that situation 3) This is the most important part. Not my defense, not my offense, not my team. Not a Jets fan (thank god) but I do watch almost all their games.
Hitting 16 points does require a turnover. Also, Sanchez is more mobile than Brady. He can be moved around. Pittsburgh does not have great speed on defense. That's why making them defend the whole field works.
The Jets need to start having Brad Smith throw the ball instead of running it all the time. Did you notice in the phins game the phins LB's were waving up the safeties when Smith is in the game and clogging everything up. Smith throwing the ball will keep the defense honest and that should open everything up when Smith is in at "QB". What do you all think good idea or bad idea? Have to let the cat out of the bag sometime. Let them bite on the run and have Smith let it rip down field.
