1. Split Tomlinson into the slot where he can work in space - He's not running the ball as effectively as before, but he's still a good pass catcher and he gives the Steelers another threat to worry about in the passing game. 2. Put John Connor at halfback with Tony Richardson as the full back - Let's bring some power back to the running game and punish the Steelers a little bit. 3. Design pass patterns with deep, intermediate, and short pass options on every play - Give Sanchez some place to go with the ball. Last week, the Jets receivers were 50 yards downfield and the O-line couldn't not protect Sanchez long enough. 4. Move Sanchez on every snap -- Don't let Pittsburgh draw a bead on the QB. Follow a straight drop back with a rollout to the right, then one to the left, 3 step drop, then a 5-stop drop...by keeping the pocket moving, it's harder for them to pin their ears back. 5. Drill, drill, drill "throw the ball out of bounds" -- Again last week, Sanchez brainlocks when it's time to throw the ball away. On one play, he rolled all the way to the near sideline and then tucked the ball in and took an unnecessary hit from a defender when all he had to do was flip the ball 1 foot out of bounds. 6. Drill, drill, drill "find Polamalu pre-snap on every play" -- And throw the ball they other way. Hairman won't drop any picks and he'll take them to the house. 7. Get Wild with Wildcat or put it in a cage -- There's no point in running the same non-option option play with Brad Smith. Have him throw it, have him pitch it, or hand it off to the guy go wide. Stop running those plays straight into the line. It's a waste of down. How about having Smith throw the ball back to Sanchez and flea-flicker it downfield. 8. Throw the ball on 1st down -- It was negligence the way Shottenheimer continued to take away Sanchez best opportunity to pass by running the ball on first down into 9-man boxes. 9. Drill, drill, drill "throw to the outside shoulder" -- Sanchez must throw the deep sideline routes over the outside shoulder so either his receiver gets it or it's incomplete. Braylon Edwards has skying skills, put it up there and let him extend. 10. Use Keller -- Hopefully, these two are working overtime this week to reestablish their mojo. With 2 decent receivers on the outside, Keller should have gobs of room down the middle to work.
I would love to see The Terminator beat the piss out of the Steelers D-line. If Shotty insists upon letting LT run into a wall of 8 men on every first down then you might as well let Connor in on the fun.
2 is retarded and doesnt 6 negate like half the points. We want to roll Sanchez out and give him as many options as possible BUT he can only use half the field??
I love the "gameplanners" on TGG. Its so damn easy. I just dont understand why Schotty and Ryan cant see this.
I just re-read the point, and I definitely do not agree with him lining up at HB the entire game, but I definitely would not mind seeing him get some touches.
welcome back to "almost reality". Dude, we do not need JOhn Connor getting carries. We need JOhn Connor blocking and the O line to step it up so Greene and LT can run the football. We hate Schotty for getting cutesy but we should give Connor teh rock now? (chuckle)
I just emailed this link to SchottyGOTaBLOODclotty@fatbustywomen.com I think he'll take this gameplan and run with it!! Not saying I don't agree with some points, but I think if it were that simple we'd be doing it. Then again this Schotty we're talking about.
Not many are mentioning the real problem with the Jet's offense lately. THE OLINE HAS REGRESSED. IMO, the main problem is starting with the 5 men up front..plain and simple. Defenses have had there way with our O-Line....it's a shame cause it was our strenght. We can blame shotty all we want and he's part of the problem, but not the only issue.
NICE. Hopefully we'll get confirmation from Schotty that he received it. Good work bro. Can someone please quickly draw up a chart for Rex telling him when to call timeouts and when not to challenge plays? We can fax it to him tomorrow so that problem will be taken care of as well. I am getting excited here people!!! We are gonna beat these fucks bad!
YES YES AND YES. Ive said this 20 times. Its so fucking obvious that the O line isnt doing their job. And now no more Woody for this season.
I am sure they thought of everything the OP listed and 1,000 other scenarios. Right/Wrong/Stupid its all been brought up. Bottom line is, until Rex and Shotty start trusting their QB, we will go nowhere. Take the fucking handcuffs off of the kid - If he is going to suck then let him suck from 1st down to 3rd down. Don't run the goddamn ball 2 times for 4 yards and leave a 3rd and 6 then call for a 4 yard slant across the middle and wonder why we didn't get the first down. If they believed in Sanchez, regardless of how shitty he was playing, then Brad Smith wouldn't have been on the field on 4th and 2 just to run it up the middle for a 1 yard loss. Let Sanchez play.
I guess if would work on Madden then why not? Seriously, now John Connor is the savior not only of man kind against the machines, but the Jets running game? Holy cow, how do we come up with this stuff? Btw I always thought the nick name the Terminator was stupid.. John Connor was human.. but whatever. The offense needs to pick up the tempo. Are they a little too predictable? Maybe.. but if they increase their tempo...not a hurry up, but a quicker to the line, quicker to huddle, and so on... Maybe Sanchez will not think so much and just play. Plus I've been noticing there is no rythm on offense. Go back to deffering on winning the coin toss.. set the tone with the D. then bring the offense out there at a increased tempo... a quasi hurry up..
Dear Brian, I am a long time Jet fan and I would like to help us win this week. Here is my plan. Please gain 10 yards every 3 downs and avoid 4th down. Usually on 4th down we have to punt and then the other team gets the ball back. This really sucks and it makes me feel bad on my couch. Also, Please tell Mr. Sanchez to throw the ball really fast and straight so no one from Pittsburgh can get their hands on the ball. I htink this will help. You will notice when you get to Heinz field on Sunday that there is a 10 yard portion of the field at either end with lots of paint in it. Make the ball go into that area. But heres the thing. The ball cant go in there by itself. It needs to be carried in by one of our guys. I think this guy should be John Connor most of the time. He is really good at football. Please let me know that you received this and plan on implementing my plan. This will make me worry way less about this game and I can start to game plan for Chicago. Its cold in Chicago boy. Sincerely, Jonnyd
