I understand the level of frustration but some if the shit I have read on here in less than 24 hrs is absolutely ridiculous.

As a realist, Let's be realistic here.
Have we played like shit on offense?
    Yup.
Did our defense play solid this week?
    uh huh

We are talking about a few plays here and there that could easily have us 12-1 right now!
But the same plays we didn't make in our losses, we've made in our wins.
We are 9-4 and that is where almost everyone w/ realistic expectations had us right now.

The mistakes on offense start with Rex. Why?
Because he has too much faith in Shotty who is single handedly costing us games.

Can the JETS win the next 3 agains Pitt Chi and Buff?
    Absolutely.

    - STEELERS: is actually a very winnable game if you win the Field Position battle.
We'd love for someone on Offense to make a damn play, break a tackle, anything but ironically, this might come down to a play on ST
Holmes punt return or Brad on KR.

    - BEARS: close to the STEELERS game in terms of MO but the difference is which Cutler is going to show up?
IMO it's the mistake Cutler simply because we WILL shut Forte down which means Cutler will have to make plays...that usually ends bad for them.

    - BILLS: Ironically, this is the game we always lose. This will be Buffalo's SB if it hinges our playoff on it.
I just don't see our defense giving up enough points but that's only if our offense is at least back to scoring 23 ppg.

We can easily go 2-1 or 3-0 if we play our football.
Some of you guys can go collapse in your bed in the fetal position like a bunch SOJ bitch ass crybabies.
I'm getting ready to watch us get into the playoffs.

Yeah, no doubt. The Jets have the talent to go 12-4 still, but can they execute it? It is odd for people to just expect a collapse, but fans have seen it for years. Can't be too upset with them.

Also, with the quote I highlighted, you could also go the opposite and say the Jets could be 5-8 if a few plays went the other way.

I admire the positivity, but the collective deer in the headlights look this team has had during the last 2 games gives me no reason to believe they will win any of them......they are each taking turns screwing up now, which is what causes losing streaks

The Jets offense will get raped by the Steelers and Bears if the o-line continues to play at the current level.

Also, I can buy that we're maybe a few plays from 12-1, but we needed about 20 plays in that Pats game, they kicked the shit out of us.

It's hard to inspire confidence in the fan base when you play two shitty games in a row.

    you're right though.

there's a myriad of possibilities that can play out. the teams chasing us for the playoffs can lose, we can win out, etc.

it just depends on which offense shows up.

    If we're lucky

we beat the Bills and back into the playoffs at 10-6 with a one and done first round elimination. I'm being to think that Sanchez is a mental case. And without good QB play a team goes nowhere.

    Well 5-7-1  Can't argue w/ that

Honestly, @ the games I will tell you this. The Offense seems to have quit and IMO that is a direct correlation to the playcalling.

They are absolutely sick of it. Being at the game you get to see body language, route running etc....and I can tell you right now the players on offense are hating what is going on.

thats an interesting insight for those of you at the games.........there were a few replays of the receivers on tv yesterday sort of going through the motions on their routes not even expecting the ball to come their way

Pretty much what I was going to say. I hope to hell that Woody is ready to go against the Steelers.

All true points...actually changed my op.
Agree, 24 hrs after a loss to the Dollfags is tough but it is on the offense for a change.

Funny, where were all the Sanchez haters when he was delivering back 2 back 2 back game winning drives with incredible precision ?

Sanchez is at a very critical juncture. He has yet to outgrow the "Teenager who just got yelled out" look that he wears too often during bad times. I envision him even now walking around the complex, wearing that 'mopey and in trouble' look on his face.

If THAT attitude is allowed to grow and prevail, he will be over before he began.

    Whoo hoo!
Gotta love this brother. Yes I have been watching game film of the game all day and honest to god that was a good defensive display. Sanchez is seriously needing a boost of confidence but he sure is hell is not being helped by our butter handed WR's and shotty.
    Play-offs? I'm in too.

More of a concern to me is this: I watched the Jags and Raiders yesterday on the early game and both these teams would beat us handily if we played even close to yesterday.

Well, honestly I don't expect him to be all smiles after a loss, he is saying the right things though and knows they need to play better.
Even with all the dropped passes he took the blame. That's him being a leader.

That said, you can blame the brilliant mind of ShottenFreuder for making sure he doesn't celebrate too much and makes a list of goals "rolleyes"

    This is what gives

Miami was a winnable game ...Right?

The Miami game wasn't just winnable. It was expected, particulalary coming off a loss. Henne possibly had the worst games of a pro QB of all time. And the Jets somehow gift wrapped the game for them.

Yeah, they did. You can win games like that, but you're not going anywhere in the post season like that. If you even make it.

Good post. Things will be interesting for sure. And you are right about some fans on this board. This place is crazier than Glenn Beck on a meth binge after two losses. Can't imagine being a Mod trying to Cesspool 75% of opened threads.

It's not about who we play but how. We can beat almost anyone when playing well. Two years ago we looked at SF, Seattle, Buffalo and Miami on the schedule and figured no problem. Last year we saw Atlanta, Indy and Cincinnati at the end and thought it was impossible.
