Did any of you pick up the Street and Smith's NFL Prview? Holy crap, they have us down as, like, the worst team ever! The disrespect is just dripping off the Jets article. On the schedule, they have a "Don't miss" game highlighted for every team. On Jets schedule the have the Jaguars game on October 8th listed. And they say after playing Indy another beating may be too much to watch! F*CK YOU, Street and Smith's.
If it'll make you feel better, I probably still have the 2004 and 2005 editions sitting in a stack somewhere at home. I'd be glad to prove to you how they're dreadfully wrong more than they're gleefully right.
Someone needs to post a picture of Jesus tap dancing before the disappointment of this thread being one big tease sets in.
Oh, I know they're wrong more often than right. It was just the condecending attitude that pissed me off....
Let them. It feels great being the underdog. Truth be told, No one knows what type of team we will field, not even the JETS...shit not even Mangini. It's all up in the air right now so leave the predictions for the suckers who write them
The lower the better. The Jets aren't a deep play off team but I think we can shock them all with a wining record this season.
Im thinking we could have anywher between 1 and 13 wins-predictions can never be taken seriously-i love to make them-but theres just no way to be able to predict in the NFL. The Bears were in our situation last year and they made the playoffs-so anything could happen-just remember how well we were projected to be last year
I buy the football and baseball edition every year, so yes I know they totally $hit on us. Don't worry, if anything it's probably a good thing. '02 they thought we'd be bad, '03 they thought we'd be good, '04 they thought we'd be bad, and last year they thought we'd be good. I guess they're never tired of being wrong.
I thought the same thing. Here I am expecting to see the Lords son doing his best Peg Leg Bates impersonation, and instead I found out something I already know: the Jets will stink this year. What a let down.
Seek and ye shall find... http://zizany.com/images/DancingJesus.gif What are the odds of that?!
While nothing can be predicted with certainty, we most certainly are among the 4 worst teams in the NFL going into the season. For the following reasons: 1. We have a big question mark at QB. 2. We have a big question mark at RB. 3. We are likely starting 2 rookies on the O-Line. 4. We have no TE, and our receiving corps is below avg. 5. We are installing a new offense, which will "take time to gel" 6. We are installing a new defense (see 5 above) 7. We have a new, unproven, HC. 8. We are going to a 3-4 without a 3-4 NT. 9. We are going to a 3-4 which may hurt Vilma. 10. We are going to a 3-4 missing one LB (I'll believe BT is an OLB when I see it.) 11. We have a K who is yet to prove he can kick it deep. With that many question marks, how many teams could be worse off ?
1. Yes, we do. 2. I think CMart will do well in a reduced role. We have three other backs on the roster who can pick up the slack. 3. Agreed, however these guys are special talents who should be able to step up quckly. 4. I think that Chris Baker will have a good season for us at TE. Our WRs aren't outstanding, but they are servicable and could be better than average with a decent line and decent QB on the field. 5. True 6. Geez, our D had better not change too quickly. We don't have the personel to go exclusively 3-4. 7. True 8. See #6 9. I am concerned about this 10. LBs are an issue 11. Nugent is never going to win games with 55 yard field goals. Just a fact. I guess what I objected to with S&S was the attitude. They treated us like a joke. I don't think we deserve that. We had a real good draft and we're trying to make some bold changes. Why not give us some credit?
