100% on the money...For those that bash the offense, ultimately this is why we hate the way this team operates out there and executes on offense. And the funny thing is that the NFL teams knows it
We as members of TGG, who follow the team every minute of the day, have been saying this for weeks. I wonder if SNY bringing it up will actually get to Rex and company. Fuck it. Schotty must know he is constantly calling the same plays week in and week out. It's really sad and scary at the same time.
They have been saying this for a few weeks now.. Klecko and Lucas are emphatic about their belief that defenses know what's coming and that Shittenheimer hasn't changed the offense at all.
like when he says 'the mere fact is that' his favorite word is mere. whatever that means. i just don't know it sounds good before the word fact.
You guys are just shifting blame to an easy target..... Do you think NFL teams change their plays every game??? LOL What do you want Schotty to do? He has a few good targets to work with, but has a bad QB... His RB's stink His oline stinks If you put Tom Brady on the Jets we are 11-2 If you put Mark Sanchez on the Pats they are probably 2-11
I highly doubt if Brady was a JETS QB, we would be 11-2. Tom Brady would still throw the ball 3 yrds short of the marker on 3rd downs because that would be the play called by the O.C.
Although I do think the play calling is repetitive I feel that the type of plays we are calling is the bigger problem. Instead of running combination routes to break apart the defense. It seems like we are running simple passing routes where the goal is for our guy to beat the guy across from them. Basically 3 wrs playing one on one, which not only makes it difficult to get open, but difficult for the quarterback to make reads. If you watch the patriots, all of their passing plays are surrounded with combination routes that set picks and draw players out of position. They don't rely on huge athletic plays, their playing calling is run small pick, twist and screen routes that get the receiver open for a short pass with the possibility for yac. Once the defense is starting to lock in on the short pass you throw a bomb for a TD. To me it feels like shotty is drawing up the "big all or nothing play". A good coordinator can design and call plays where the quarterback always has an opportunity to throw into 1 on 1 coverage. To those who say you can't throw short passes like that is because they have 8 or 9 in the box, thats bullshit. You just need to throw outside the numbers.
we should play a game where we take a shot of patron everytime we get run or pass play call wrong. We are more then likely going to predict the calls 75% of the time
