This guy is on the Titans practice squad at the moment...isn't he worth more of a look than Emmanuel Cook despite him knowing the system? Rolle is as intelligent as anyone in the 10' draft class, my guess is he could pick up the system rather quickly
I don't necessarily think that being a Rhodes Scholar makes Rolle anything special. Yeah he's a really smart kid but that doesn't mean he's smart on the field. It's an entirely different type of intelligence.
idk if intelligence has anything to do with it, he just may not be physically gifted enough to play in the nfl
I don't think he'd be on a 6-7 team's practice squad if he was all that fans and draft "experts" in the media thought he was. I'm not writing him off, but obviously people were overrating him....he dropped very far in the draft.
It's obvious that the year away from football hurt his game big time. I based all of my arguments on his play before he went to Oxford. If he didn't enter that academic program, there's no doubt in my mind that he would've been a second or third rounder. My scouting reports on Rolle were very premature. He still looked decent in most drills, but football is the second option for him and a lot of teams didn't like that.
That's the biggest knock on Braylon. "He likes what football brings him, more than he likes Football itself"
Myron Rolle's not like that. It's not about money or the fame. His main goal in life is to become a neurosurgeon. He wants to save lives and I have no problems with that. If he wants to save lives, he needs to get out of football and get to medical school ASAP - there's no place for him in this league. He's obviously needed elsewhere.
If intelligence made you a great football player Eric Smith wouldnt be putting on the show he has as a starter.
