With a defense that is this bad, they are not winning two playoff road games, let alone getting to a Super Bowl. Hope of a division is dead and a bye is dead. And with 7 picks in the first 4 rounds of the draft, those scumbags up north are probably going to steal three more SB's in the next ten years. This was the year to win. And it's over.
the patriots have been a terrible drafting team in the past decade, absolutely horrendous. So forgive me if I don't have any faith in that statement. But you are right, this is the time we needed to behead the beast. We needed this win far more than they did, we needed it to continue to change the culture and we needed it to prove not only to ourselves, but to the world that this division is ours now, and it doesnt matter what you do, we are going to beat the fuck out of ya. We laid down and got raped last night. Time for Rex to rally the troops, and come back next week in what is basically a must win game.
lol at this darksider comment. Our D isn't the near the bottom of the league like you make it sound. The whole team had a terrible game, deal with it. I bet you didn't think we would win 2 road games in the PO last year with our terrible O, but we did. You may have lost all faith, but not everybody else has. The Pats have been terrible drafting the past few years, and until they start to draft better all their picks won't concern me much. You are talking about NE winning more superbowls even after Brady leaves, because he is not going to be in the league for 10 more years. The Pats are probably going to steal 3 more SB's and this was our only year? Good option for you then is to become a Pats fan, you seem like your halfway there.
The good news is last nights nightmare only counts as 1 lose, whether it was 45-3 or 21-20. Hopefully this is a wake up call, rather have it now then in the playoffs. The thing that does concern me is that Sanchez doesn't seem to be able to cut the wind very well with his passes, seems I saw a lot of flutter balls being thrown by him last night. Folk also seems like a fair weather kicker, if there is any wind he is doomed.
Really? The Pats have been terrible drafting?? They've picked up some very good players over the past few years - Sebastian Vollmer, Brandon Merriwether, Pat Chung, Devin McCourty, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, etc. etc. You can't argue the point that the Pats seem to have wider window than the Jets. Young Defense, tons of draft picks, a better cap situation (saying this based on the # of FA's the Jets will struggle to retain next year). The only thing that gives me comfort is that Brady is over 30 and at some point his play will start to decline.
Last year it took us 16 games to reach 9 wins, we just laid an huge egg last night. We all knew Mark would have some bad games and last night was one. I still hate the game that was called though.
In 86 we started 10-1, than lost to the Phins 45-3. This shit happens, we beat them in game one, they beat the ever-loving shit out of us game 2.
from one angle, the loss last night may actually HELP getting us a SB win. we were exposed. but last nights game did not happen in the playoffs, it happened in the regular season with a month to fix.
You're right. If it serves as a wake up call then it came at the right time. It seems like it's all about the Miami game now. Win that game and we're back on track. Lose and the Jets could go into free-fall with tough road games at Chicago and Pittsburgh looming.
I agree with you guys too. It's a good thing that it happened during the regular season where we still have time to fix it. I do believe that we have more talented player on our offense than the Pats offense, it just that we still haven't come together and play like 1 unit. Sanchez looked like he doesn't want to play anymore after he got hit by wilfork. The Jets has to wake up now and play like a jet!
