by JasonLaCanfora Broncos Owner Pat Bowlen has relieved Josh McDaniels of his head coaching duties. edit: YEP. Another BB disciple hits the dust http://www.denverbroncos.com/news-a...f-Duties/7867f9a0-741f-406c-ab5a-ad136195d994
Yep. He was kind of a douche. He's young though, he'll get a chance somewhere again. Maybe even New England will rehire him..
Can't wait to listen to Big Alfred Williams and Schlereth on the drive home. I live in Colorado and Schlereth has been openly lobbying for the Broncos GM job and has said he would fire McDaniels. Wonder who the new coach will be?
hahahahahahahaha. imagine, his record would be even worse if not for that lucky tip for TD against the Bengals week 1 last year.
I wonder if he'd want to be our offensive coordinator? He's a douche and not a good HC/GM, but he's a very good offensive coordinator.
As much as I dislike McDaniels as a person, I would be open to this idea... if he didn't seem to be allergic to rushing attacks.
As much as I dislike McDaniels as a person, I would be open to this idea... if he didn't seem to be allergic to rushing attacks. ADDED: I find this hilarious, by the way. Few young coaches are given as much control over personnel as McDaniels was, and for good reason. I'd count "Kyle Orton" as the exception if McDaniels hadn't thought little enough of him to draft his replacement in the first round.
and that was the big mistake. it wasn't that outlandish to give the kid a head coaching chance consideirng how well he did as a coordinator, but full control? holy f'ing sheet, that was unbelievable dumb, which means, ultimately, McDaniels wasn't the problem at all, just a symptom of the main stupidity -- Pat Bowlen.
It was a bad hiring from the start. You fire Shanahan because the defense is bad and he had some misses on personnel, and then you hire a young, offensive minded coach before you hire a gm, and you give him total control. In hindsight they should have just kept Shanny.
I feel bad-whoops that's enough. He is getting paid for 2 more years. In the meantime he will probably get another job somewhere. I don't know if this spygate2 thing precludes him from being hired back.
the guy can put together an offense....that's for sure. Even though he stunk it up in Denver...he made Kyle Orton into something out of nothing.
