Looking at the big picture! Say we beat the Pats tomorrow night. That is great and we will most likely win the division baring a major collapse then. Now consider this If it comes down to it and we have to face them again in the playoffs like the AFCG for instance does anyone think we can beat this team three times in the same season? What are the odds any one team beats another three times especially New England.I know its happened before but the odds are slim.Would we be able to reach for that extra something and pull it off?
I think Steelers went 3 for 3 vs. Baltimore when they won Super Bowl XLIII, so Holmes is used to it. Seriously though, yes, the Jets could easily do that. Haha.///Thread.
I understand completely. I am more excited about this Jets team than I can remember. Just keep shit in perspective is all I'm saying.
Even if we win tomorrow it doesn't guarantee the division, just puts is in an excellent position to win it Slow your roll son, you jumped like 800 steps. This is a tough stretch of games we have coming up
The real question is could the chiefs/jags beat the Patriots wild card weekend ? We can only hope so. Personally id REALLY like to see Chiefs vs Pats wild card matchup, since I think the Chiefs could knock em out. Then again its completely possible we see a Colts/Jags vs Pats wildcard weekend just as well. Eitherway you gotta rememeber this. Pats would be the #5 seed and the #6 seed is going to be an AFC south team. So the Pats would have to Beat Jags/Colts/Chiefs (2 of the 3 are tough ground and pound running teams) then theyd have to win @ Baltimore/Pitsburgh (cmon Ravens) then theyd have to come into our house after playing some really tough physical matchups. Its gonna be a bumpy fricken road for the #5 seed, thats for sure.
One of my best friends is a Jaguars fan. They went 14-2, both losses to the Titans. Then they went 1-1 in the playoffs. The loss? Titans. 15-3, 3 losses to the Titans. Anything is possible.
I usually take it easy with stuff like this, but if we go into Fox borough and win then anything is possible. I personally would love to crush their Ego's and go to the big dance. I’d sign on for that.
Usually when a team sweeps a division opponent, and then plays them in the playoffs, they beat them again.
Historically the odds are not favorable. But if our team is meant to reach their destiny, then nothing will stop them.
The odds of beating a good team like this, 3 times in the same season are just unbelievably astronomical. If we win tonight, it gives us the edge in the home field drivers seat, if we win the division that is. But the Patriots are a very good team, if we were to lose tonight, we might still win the division somehow and go into possible meeting them in the playoffs with each team having won at home. The third meeting would be epic. Not that I'm hoping that we lose tonight, but it just occurred to me that we might not be seeing the last of them for this season tonight. Of course, the Team will just have to take each game one game at a time, and play to win each one. I on the other hand, have no control or input in that process, so I can start thinking what if we have to beat them 3 times this season to win the SB.
we'll beat them 3x this year....relax. This team is fueled by copious amounts of luck. After the SuperBowl...I expect the NFL to send the NYJets over to N.Korea to settle that situation too.
the odds dont mean shit weather we play them once, twice or 8 times... its all on a game by game basis
The best team will win, Pitt beat Bal 2 years ago, Miami beat us 3 times in 1982. I want to beat them tonight, if we see them again we'll worry about it then. i'd rather beat them tonight and face them at home in january then lose and face them in Foxboro in January.
