I am not worried long term of the season just Monday. Cotch is coming off his own injury - how many punts do you think he has fielded in the past month. If we cleanly fair catch everything I guess it will be a success.
with all the communication problems the secondary has had in the last 2 yrs, its beyond time for a change leonards a decent player but is easily replaceable, hopefully lowery works more at safety
Cotchery after practicing yesterday..."I'm at full speed now, so I'm ready to go. I'm ready to go, I'm good, I'm good," he said. "I'm blessed to be able to have a body that responds this well."
*&(&%*%*(^%(%^ shit - i have been having a bad feeling about this game this week and now this shit.... hopefully this is the worst news of the next 5 days jil
Easily??? He is the leader/signal caller of the D, our punt returner, and the only safety who can cover worth a damn. My hopes for the season just plummetted.
I know you're shitting yourself right now, but let me ask you this. When Jenkin's went down last year and this year, how'd that work out? Holmes' suspension, how'd that work out? Cotchery out for 2 weeks, how'd that work out? Revis out for a couple of weeks, how'd that work out? This team will not miss a beat no matter who is out.
Damn this sucks, would be awesome if somehow this whole thing is a big act, like how Belichick has had Brady on the report for the past 4 years or whatever.
Huge blow for the team, and Jim personally. You never want to see a player on your team get injured, but a guy Leonhard, it's a real shame. I wish him a speedy recovery, and hope he is able to cheer from the sidelines within the next few weeks during the playoff push.
We did win a game last year with Kellen Clemens when Sanchez was out. Although it was against the 1-11 Bucs at the time.
rodboone Rod Boone #Jets confirm Jim Leonhard broke his tibia and said he's having surgery tonight at Morristown Memorial Hospital tonight. ------------------ rodboone Rod Boone They won't say it's a season-ending injury until after surgery, but did say his fibia, ankle & knee are fine & injury didn't break the skin
I took this off the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons site. "Tibial fractures typically take a long time to heal. So that the bone can heal properly, you may need to use crutches and avoid placing any weight on the leg for several weeks. Periodic X-rays may be needed to ensure that the bone remains aligned and is healing properly. Closed fractures may take 5 to 6 months to heal; severe open fractures may take 9 months or more. The type of complication encountered depends on the type of fracture and the treatment provided. Knee or ankle pain, unequal leg length, malalignment that leads to arthritis, nonunion, infection, rotational deformity, compartment syndrome, and vascular injuries are among the possible complications. Orthopaedic surgeons are continuing to research ways to reduce complications and to identify fractures at risk for delayed healing or nonunion."
Although likely that he is out for the rest of the season, there is still a chance he isn't? Edit: After reading Funkee Beatz' post, I don't think there is a chance anymore. A friend of mine said he heard Lowery is indeed playing. I just read it on TheJetsBlog.
