1-7 to 7-7 that was a great year for that era...

That's what got me hooked, a six-game winning streak with Joe at the helm. Some highlights I remember: starting the streak with Joe's bootleg and then the OT win vs the Giants at the Yale Bowl, a comeback win vs the Dolphins with a late TD pass to Richard Caster at Shea and the finale I think was in Baltimore vs Bert Jones and the Colts, who were good back then.

Maybe Jeff Blake converted to Islam and changed his name?

    That's all I've got.

Pat Ryan, but he gave way to Ken O'Brien during the 1984 season.

    QB?

Oh. I was talking about west-coast rapper Ahmad who made the smash hit single "Back in the Day" back in 1994-95.

"Back in the day when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore, but some days I sit n' wish I was a kid again."

But I digress. I became a Jets fan back when Vinny T. was the cornerback.

Yeah that sucked for him, on the team for years, starts 11 games and then he's done.

Poor Guy, he did have some moments in 88 though.

Dick Wood, although it obviously multiplied greatly when that guy from Alabama joined the team.

I thought they were a bit quick to pull Ryan that year, I think we were 6-5. Started 6-2 and lost a couple but it wasn't all Ryan's fault.

Yeah you're right, we were 6-2, Ryan had a couple picks and in came Ken. BS move I think too, and then for the next few games they split reps.

Went from 6-2 to 6-8 in a blink of an eye. lol

Great games between Namath and Bert Jones who had a rifle and a LB's mentality...

How did we get from Charlie Winner to Lou Holtz? I was 8, was Winner fired or did he just leave?
