First of all, I think they got it right here, since the ball bobbled when he hit the ground, but there are two things I don´t get here.

    1. Carl Johnson says this wouldn´t be a Catch in the middle of the field, either, even thou the ball didn´t hit the ground. I mean, as long as the Ball doesn´t hit the turf, it´s a live ball and a catch, right? Is CJ just wrong here, or is this rule even more messed up, than I already thought it would be?

    2. How can Carolina challange this thing? The ruling on the field was, he stepped out of bounds prior to the catch, which would draw a Flag. So wasn´t Carolina really challenging a Flag? I always thought you can´t callenge a flag!

The ball did hit the ground and you can see it come out of his grasp.
Definitely not a catch whether on the sideline or middle of the field.
Had he been in the middle of the field and taken a few steps and then went to the ground like he did it would have been a catch.

lol I have no idea whats a catch anymore. I was under the impression that the ball could move as long as you maintained possession

it can move as long as it doesn't come out of your grasp to any degree. the call was that it did come out of his grasp, and since it was out of his grasp and on the ground it was incomplete.

I don't see it out of his grasp though. looks like he has complete possession of the ball and the force of his falling to the ground pushed it up towards his body while his body fell down towards the ground, but his hands were firmly holding the ball it and never came apart from his hands to any degree.

the official is claiming because it moved it came apart from his hands, which is ridiculous. I don't see it. it moved and his hands never came aprt from he ball. that's a completion.

That call was a complete joke. I was sitting there wondering how they could challenge a flag too. The ref threw the flag and proceeded to signal catch. It was then challenged for the flag. You are telling me there is indisputable evidence that he didn't make that catch? JOKE. Refs are a joke can't get it right with replay.

^Agreed. I mean the official was right there. They fucked up on 2 counts. One, for letting there be a challenge on a penalty. 2, then reversing the call
