Which team who looks pretty much dead and out of it this year will make the deepest playoff run in 2010? Similar to the 2009 Jets. 5-5 Teams: -Washington Redskins -Miami Dolphins -Seattle Seahawks -Oakland Raiders -Tennessee Titans 4-6 Teams: St. Louis Rams Houston Texans 3-7 Teams: Minnesota Vikings Other teams not listed: (5-5) Chargers. Despite their record, they are not in the same boat as the Jets at all. They are just underachievers. (3-7) Browns. 7 losses already in the AFC. Its over. (3-7) 49ers/Cardinals. They are terrible, but could still win their division I guess. I have to go with Brett Favre and the Vikings. Starting with a big win in DC today, the Vikings will go on a roll. Finish 9-7 and sneak into the playoffs. Childress really held them back. Thoughts?
This is a tough one, I feel none of these teams are like the 2009 NYJs at all ... we had the #1 defense, #1 running game and a rookie QB ... But if I had to pick one, it would be the Raiders ... they got a great running game, they play hard for Tom Cable, if Aso comes back 100%, they could ultimately sneak in and take a wild card ... not to mention they can take their offense on the road in cold conditions or make some plays from their never die QBs even though they are not as good ... There defense has performed better than years past, not getting destroyed in the running game like they used to, plus their corners outside of Aso aren't that bad ... I'll go with the Raiders here
the dolphins are the only team that makes sense(sadly). but thigpen can't be the QB. if henne plays then it's them. they're not doing it though. i just think they're the most likely out of those teams.
The problem this year is that (9-7) teams probably will not get into the playoffs in the AFC and maybe not the NFC.
Raiders could run the table and lose only 1 more game this season ... @ San Diego Chargers @ Jacksonville Jaguars Denver Broncos Indianapolis Colts @ Kansas City Chiefs Raiders are capable of winning all these games. It's a matter of showing up for them, I could see them losing 1 of these games and playing good football, there only loss being against either the Colts or Chargers They could also implode and lose a lot of those games as well ... kind of like the Jets last year ...
I was looking through the schedules to see who's going to have what we had last year: two teams who don't really give a crap at the end. With the divisional games being all at the end, and almost every division in football being close, it looks like nobody. So with that being said I think the Bucs might make the most noise in the playoffs if they make it in.
I think a 9-7 team will make it in the AFC - either the West or South champion, with the way they play each other down the stretch it just might be 9-7 that gets it done. Shit 8-8 might win the NFC West. But your right no 9-7 wildcards. Even though they are 7-3, I would say the Bucs would be the biggest surprise to make some noise. In a divison with the defending champs and Atlanta noone gave them a second thought this year. I don't know why and it doesn't make sense but I have a feeling if KC wins the west they will win a home playoff game and can keep it close against any of the Jets/Steelers/Pats/Ravens team in the divisional round.
got to go with the raiders....my best friend is a huge raiders fan and she looks almost identical to my avatar. we're both rooting for a jet/raiders playoff game. winner takes all!!
Keep an eye on Kansas City. They'll get a home playoff game if they can close out the West, and they're very tough to beat at Arrowhead. Plus they've got the kind of rushing attack that wins games in the postseason...I could definitely see them pulling a few upsets and making a little run.
True, but at 4-6 last year with a rookie QB/Coach, I am sure many people felt the same about the Jets.
They lucked into a playoff berth though. I know no one wants to hear it, but it's true. But at least last year's Jets team could hang their hat on an amazing defense and running game. I see nothing that promising from any of the teams listed in the poll. Gun to my head, I'd probably pick the Texans, because they can at least score with anyone in the league. We all know how their defense is.
