Alright I know were quite a ways off from the end of the season so im trying to figure this out.

If the Pats beat us (thats a big if) then wed be tied in head to head wins.

Then assuming they lose 1 of their remaining games (which they almost certainly will) that would have us both finished at 13-3. (and both of us with 5-1 divisional records)

And since all of their remaining opponents are teams we played our "same opponent" matchups (or whatever that tie breaker is called) would have us both losing to 2 of the same teams we played (Ravens/Packers for us and Browns/whoever they lose to for them)

So if the Pats lose to an AFC team (thatll give them 2 conference loses vs 1 for us) id assume that means we take the division (although this is pretty unlikely since its vs Bills and the QBless dolphins). And if they lose to an NFC team then what happens ?

Obviously when we beat them again then none of this matters, but I was curious how the #s played out if we didnt.

it's too early to worry about this. 13-3 for both teams is a big if. so much can happen and it depends who they lose to.

Pats got blown out by the Browns and barely beat the Bills.

This is the NFL you can lose any week to any team.

Id be shocked if any team in the nfl wins out the last 7 weeks.

Both the Jets and Patriots have to play Buffalo and Miami. It is not a given that either win both of those. I wouldn't be suprised if the Bill get to decide who wins the AFC east this year.

Hmm well I think Strength Of Victory tiebreaker would go to the Pats.

Meaning if we lost to the Pats theyd either have to lose 2 games, or lose to one of our wounded divisional rivals.

Wed both have 1 conference loss (the Pats remaining games are all vs NFC teams with the exception of its divisional games)

If Pats only loss is vs green bay we're a wildcard team.

Wed have two. Are you predicting they lose to the Packers or the Phins/Bills?

Ah yeah wasnt thinking about our H2H games, guess that would put us both @ 2 conference loses.

But the net result is the same. Conference record are identical so it would go to Strength of Victory unless they ended up losing a 2nd divisional game.

    Nah my thoughts were discombobulated.

Basically if we lost to the Pats, the Pats would either have to lose to two nfc teams or either the Bills/Dolphins.

Green Bay is in Foxboro so there is a better chance Chicago can beat them.Cause if we somehow pull out a win against them they will never let Breenbay beat them at home as well.
