We will win...its live here in the UK and you just can't let us down. The Thanksgiving game is also live - surely the NFL are lining the Jets up to come play in LOndon next year?
I don't think we can take any defense for granted, the Lions and the Browns are below average teams and even though we won in overtime, those games should not have been that close with the talent we have on offense. We are slowly becoming a passing team, I heard a stat this morning on ESPN 1050 that the Jets now run the ball only 47% as opposed to last years 59%. This does not bode well for us since we are not a warm weather team. Come the colder season we need to pound the ball. While I know the secondary for the Texans is bad it does not mean that the Jets will come up with a scheme to exploit it. On the other hand the Texans probably have been looking at last weeks film and figured out how to exploit our defense, as a matter of fact Simms mentioned it during the Browns game, how the Jets defense is catching no one by surprise and teams are hitting their slot receivers across the middle on the underneath routes, to exploit the blitz, it worked for the Lions and it worked for the Browns, I don't know what the answer is but I hope we are not as predictable this week on offense or defense. I don't want to see double reverses all game long but I hope we use some play action to exploit the secondary and 3 receiver sets to open up the run.
We still won't sack him....gonna have to blitz. And why aren't we blitzing if Revis and Cro are doing their jobs at the CB positions ? Says alot -- or very little -- for our safeties and LB's.
4-years ago, just prior to the Giants/Dolphins game at Wembley, London the company I used to work for sponsored an event that was an NFL forum for the media. Several owners were in attendance...from the following teams: Giants Dolphins Saints Buccs Broncos Pats Seahawks Colts Also in attendance: Cowboys Redskins Notable for not attending: Jets Raiders So I think there is no hope that the Jets will play a 'home' game over here. I expect Seattle will come over. I can't see Dallas or the Redskins giving up a home game either. Other rumours include the Ravens, Colts, Browns to come over. One other thing: as a Jets fan for 25 years can you imagine what it it was like to watch the Giants against the Fish in the first ever regular season game over here! Who would you support!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't want a jets game in London but I can see woody buying into it. 4 years ago the jets weren't even close to being considered elite or fan-friendly. Now though... WJ may try to win some European fans over
Rex has made a lot of news over here but the Jets will only ever play a road game in the UK - especially after the cost of the new stadium. Furthermore, the labour deal issues are likely to postpone the International Series in 2011...I hope not because it is a great day out for us and every American visitor I have spoken to are surprised at the level of understanding of the game in the UK (by the fans rather than the idiots who write newspapers). If there is a game most money seems to be on Steelers at Seahawks.
Hey, I haven't had a chance to be on the board much this week (unfortunately) but where are all the shit-talking Texans fans?
Shit-talking or not, they just don't exist. I went to the last Jets-Texans home game and I've never seen so few visiting fans.
@nd post on this problem(A good one ) Hey all, I've been lurking on this site for 2 seasons and have posted about 20-30 times and also got to know a few regulars when I went to Indy for playoff game last season. We took that town over the night before. Anyway, I commented that I experienced a good problem this week when my bro-in-law called me with free ticket upgrade to President Club and Mezz seats so I figured I would post my seats on Craigslist.(Forget Ebay-Stubhub and Jets website they ain't getting any extra profit out of me) Anyway I decided I would only ask face value. Lo and behold, I immediately recieved many calls but I decided to sell them for face to a dad and his 2 kids. My point is that you know the Jets are in vogue, sexy, THE TEAM, when I can get at least face value (I could have gotten 40-50 bucks above too)for my Jets tix. As recently as last year, unless, you had really good seats, you couldn't give them away. Maybe a Fins or Pats game would get you 30-40 bucks for a ticket. I am nervous about Texans but we'll pull it out. Let's get in our seats for kickoff. JETS-JETS-JETS-JETS JimJet
Please just fucking run the ball all day Schotty. The Jets will win and the downers will need to find something new to bitch about for a few days.
I think Schottenheimer should call a balanced game. Houston has the worst pass defense in the league - we need to attack that weakness, get up big, and then run the ball to wear down the clock. Sanchez is very confident right now. The coaching staff should let him sling it all over the field.
Please Schotty - try to improve your Red Zone Efficiency from 2d worst in the League. Your offense's failure to convert RZ opportunities into TDs is what is preventing this team from dominating opponents. Running the ball all day seems like a bad strategy against a Texans D that can be exploited through the air as Garrard proved last week. The best strategy would be to mix the pass/run in a manner that moves the chains, gets the team into the RZ and then converts TDs. Ideally we will build a lead that will enable Schotty to let LT & Greene run the rock and control the game. That would be a first.
I agree. I think the Jets could probably win this game passing the ball 15 times or less with how bad the Texans D is. I have just grown tired of reading the freaking out over how the Jets offense is evolving this year... oh and I also bought low on SG in Fantasy a few weeks ago too.
