Hey guys curious, when does training camp start? The Jets going to be on Hard Knocks again? Thoughts?
Asomugha is going to command minimum 12 million dollars, and Cromartie will probably cost at least 9 million. Are the Jets seriously in a position to pay either of these guys that much money, especially with Harris, Ellis, Edwards, and Holmes all becoming free agents?
I wish that was the case but cro has never had a huge pay day and after the season hes have he will get paid what scares me is if its gonna be the pats... But, thankfully Im pretty sure we drafted wilson so when cro did blow up we had a back up plan......
Taylor & Price are up there when it comes to age & only situational players. Think it would be better to get someone who can rush the passer and be able to play most defensive snaps. Dl or LB (prefer the DL though). Maybe even an upgrade at safety. Cromartie isn't on Asoh level but he's good enough to shutdown #2 & #3 receivers he'll and he'll cost less than Asomugha. Wilson has talent and could step up next season also. If there was no salary cap then Asomugha > Cromartie.
Wouldn't do it. The problem this year has been slot receivers and tight ends underneath. Signing Aso doesn't change that. The team needs a passrusher first, safety second. Cb is probably last as far as needs go, depending on Cro
Ellis and Edwards or Holmes are iffy to return. I say Holmes comes back, and depending on FA Ellis may be on his last days with the team. The Dline is in need of some youth.
Are we being nice about this thread because Mambo is a known poster or because we are becoming pussified as a nation?
Everyone keeps saying Rex loves having a shutdown secondary so he can throw everyone at the qb, i'd rather have a dlineman who can actually rush the passer period. We have 1 shutdown corner, and even if we lose Cro and get Wilson taking his place (provided he shows he can contribute in the coming weeks) I think we would be much better off w/a legit passrusher that can attack the qb on any and all downs - not just the 3rd down blitz.
you would have too much money tied up in the secondary if you sign him cromartie probaby wont be cheap either but i doubt he commands nearly the amount aso will get
We absolutely need to lock up Cro, Braylon and Harris. I'd love to have Santonio on board too, and maybe with some creative accounting we can fit him into the payroll, but for now he's not a priority as I see it. He's certainly got big play ability but it just seems that Sanchez has a lot more chemistry with Braylon and Cotch than everybody else.
This too. A legit pass rusher on DE/OLB would make a world of difference and take the defense to a different level. That absolutely has to be draft priority #1.
Yes................... At this time of the year, this belongs in the cesspool. My first post was a little to subtle for me......hahahahah
I think it's gonna be harder to lock all these guys up then some of the posters here seem to believe. Think about how much of next year's cap space has already been devoted to Sanchez, Ferguson, Mangold, Scott, Jenkins, Pace, and Revis. How many more big contracts can they hand out? I assume Harris is the priority, seeing as how he is the only good young LB on the roster. After that, I think the Jets would be lucky to sign even one other guy. All of these players will have several teams interested in them, and most will probably be able to outbid the Jets.
He gave a full explanation that wasn't too long winded and full of nonsense and it wasn't one of those ask a question in the title and then type "Thoughts??" for the OP. He did it the right way so save from this thread being blown up. Posters should take note.
