Hey guys LG Rob Turner played a lot for injured Matt Slauson against the Browns and I wanted to know what you guys thought about his performance... I didn't really paid much attention to him and I'd like to know what you guys thought about his potential... Thanks
me either cbs never even mentioned it till deep into overtime the o line tho did struggle a little as sanchez had to keep escaping not sure tho whos fault it really was though
DBrick got beat a few times, but to be fair Sanchez held onto the ball for about 4 seconds before throwing.
CBS was screwing up a lot of stuff. I remember early on in the game they kept calling some white guy (prob Leonhard) Eric Smith.
Well, that's still a process. Alan Faneca left this team having taught Brick, Mangold, and Moore how to block. But his time here was done, his best days were behind him, and it was time for Mangold and Brick to stand up and become leaders of their own. This is their first year without Faneca so there's bound to be some struggle though they've all had good seasons(Brick, Moore, Mangold).
Because Brick is usually one on one against the no names, but when a Jared Allen comes along, the Jets game plan around that and give him help.
That might be part of it but I feel like Brick's body-type is well suited for dominant speed / agility rushers. Brick isn't a massive guy (girth-wise no homo btw) but has long arms and moves well on his feet. He's built more like a power forward than a tackle. Basically, I think huge DEs give him more trouble than your prototypical 4-3 passrusher - umenyiora, Freeney, Mathis, Allen, tuck, etc
Uh no they do not. He is largely left on an island. He has arguably been a top 2 LT this year. Up until this game, Brick has not let up a sack and maybe 2-3 pressures in 5 games.
I think it's the opposite. Defense who has players such as Jared Allen let them try to beat Brick one on one but when they have no names they crowd the left side because of our LG situation and Brick can handle 2 or 3 pass rushers. Brick is one of the best LT in the league this year!!!
because everybody fucks up once in awhile. rob turner, and jets kill nate kaeding. nate kaeding is extremely intimidating. just look at his face. rob turner doesnt give a fuck about how good of a field goal kicker kaeding is.
The real good sign for Turner is that I didn't notice when Mangold was replaced a few weeks back. The guy has turned into a solid pro; I just hope he doesn't Incognito himself.
Just a side note I picked up on after watching part of the game over: It seems that Slauson was benched rather than injured. He wasn't in the game the series immediately following the play where Sanchez was injured. It looked like Slauson got didn't have a handle of his responsibility because he left Shaun Rogers for Tony Richardson to block and allowed a blitzing DB a straight line to Sanchez. Hunter played for the entire 4th quarter and overtime period
Thanks for posting Rob. You did very well this week, but there's always room for improvement. Good luck against the Texans.
When Turner entered the game, we didn't use any of those effective pulls that Slauson has been doing so well, for whatever reason. Turner is jack of all trades master of none.
