I hope he can keep it up in the cold weather. He has played primarily in Texas and San Diego his whole life, it'll be a change. I think he'll be ok though, just expect more Shonnmower touches.
His ability to catch out of the backfield has been a huge difference maker for us. He was running really well the first 5 games or so too, but seems to have tailed off lately. I'd like to see another LT endzone celebration soon.
Nice resurgence of his career. Hopefully he sticks around until Greene shows he can finally take the RB job for himself, so prob in about a year.
Greene has already proven he can, it's just that in today's NFL no one rides one running back all season as much anymore. McKnight + Greene is a sick combo assuming McKnight pans out.
Shonn Greene wasn't really that good early in the season, and looked out of shape, when L.T. took the starting job. It was 75/25 partnership between Greene and L.T. but Rex says now it's 50/50. I'd rather have it be 75/25 in favor of Greene to rest Tomlinson, and have Greene get his reps so both of them can be ready for a late season push and through the playoffs. And it would be a sick combo, I think McK will pan out, if like to see him get some playing time against the Texans in place of Cotch.
Greene has to learn how to catch out of the backfield and pick up the blitz better. Those are 2 things that LT does exceptionally well. The thing about LT from what I have been reading, LT has really helped out the other RB's in that regard. I think those 2 things are keeping LT in for more snaps. LT has been having a great season, by most metrics. However, as this season grinds on, SG is going to get more and more snaps. That certainly isn't bad news. If Sanchez keeps improving and getting in synch with Holmes, there will be no more 9 in the box. Then SG and LT are going to be terrors. It really will be something if Sanchez continues to improve. Oddly enough the key to the Jets this year is going to be the offense.
I can't watch video at work, but is this the same as the video in this thread? http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=61286
I'm thinking we might be using him too much and should start to transfer alot of the load over to SG23.
Heard Rex deal w/ this topic in an interview. Rex commented that he wanted to reduce LT's work/hits in practice before reducing his in-game role. It does seem that the plays are shifting to Greene more than earlier in the season, which I'm happy with also. LT is good but wanna make sure that he's not beaten up when the playoffs come around.
Yeah Rex did say that  And its a good tactic to give SG more carries right now. SG also needs to find his mojo. The last few times he rushed, there have been times where hes almost broken out into open field, but for a last ditch tackle. Like last season, once he breaks a big one, open the flood gates :jets:
