Spread offense. Pitt isn't really built to defend against it. If you guys had an offensive line and stuck to the run game you'd have the ball long enough to win. The Pats kryptonite is a good running game.
The defense was bad but I'd be a lot more concerned about the line play and the Steelers offense in general after that showing. They piled on about 300 yards and 23 points of garbage in the 4th but that was one of the poorest offensive showings I've seen against a mediocre to bad defense in awhile.
Maybe if Ward didn't get knocked out, we could have just had a nice little shootout and beat them at their own game.
True. I love Ward, and another NE safety is using his helmet to spear people. If Holmes or Keller get knocked out, I want bounties on these fuckers. They do it way too often.
Ward got hit. Its football. Ward has taken many scalps over the years. payback is a bitch sometimes. The Steelers Secondary was headhunting Welker all night long so its not as if the Pats were the only team hitting receivers and trying to knock them out. Its part of the game.
Brady loves gay. The injuries on the offensive line doomed the steelers this week. Also the Hines ward injury was the icing. No kemoeatu and Starks fucked the run game. They could have pounded the ball all day and run all over the pats
The real question is - how do you beat the Pats? I hope Rex is watching the Patriots-Browns game on loop right now.
Be physical at the LOS and abuse their absymal run defense. When you are forced to pass, don't make major mistakes, and make the plays when they are there to make. Thats what we did to beat New England, and thats what Cleveland did to beat them. Granted Cleveland beat the shit out of new england, and we just beat them handily. So we have room for improvement  ats_suck:
That's how you beat any 3-4 defense, the problem is that most teams don't have the offensive scheme to do it. There was no dinking and dunking all game, Brady hit some big passes in this game.
Injuries are finally catching up to the Steelers --- no Aaron Smith & Brett Keisel on the DL --- no typical Pittsburgh pass rush. As a result Brady had plenty of time to expose a very suspect secondary.
I thought Tom loved the Gay's? I know when Tom played with Randall Gay he demanded to be as close as possible to this particular Gay.
He better. Take a look at their schedule. They play Indy, NYJ, GB, and Mia at home. Road Sked is all cream puffs. @Det,@Chi,@Buf... I'd Bet NE goes no worse than 5-2 down that stretch. Which means it will take more than 12 wins to win the AFCBeast.
I find it pretty annoying they won't just go away. Indy should beat them, we should beat them, GB and MIA have a shot. They should win all those road games but @Chi could be tough - especially if Peppers can bring some heat.
