That is a crock of shit. What happened with Miller was NOT a big deal, and neither was this thing with Cutler. Now, if you want to talk about little Vick, different issue. Miller was throwing a party. There was a noise complaint. Some of Miller's guests got into a shouting match with the cops, and when they got arrested, Miller tried to talk the cops out of it. So, they cuffed him too.... I've seen cops over react like that before. It was no big deal, and the race card is a pathetic attempt at playing how the white man keeps us down BS.

What was Cutler supposed to say here? I sucked, so we didn't win much? This (and Jansen) simply have an anti-Cutler agenda. How race even got mentioned is ludicrous, and has no place in the discussion, except for others who DO have a race agenda they want to spout off about. I call that black arrogance. Touche for the white privledge comment.

Cutler was fairly highly recruited, but schools like Perdue wanted him to play safety. Only Vandy promised him he could play QB, so he went there instead.

Last time I checked, football was still a team sport. The QB STILL get too much credit and too much blame. I don't even think Vanderbuilt had even ONE other player invited to the combine.... that's how bad that team was. It isn't the team you draft, it's the player, and what he can and can't do. If a company has to compete with Microsoft, does that mean the CEO sucks because he doesn't make as much money for the shareholders? No, he does not have Microsoft's resources, and isn't on an even playing field. Same thing with these Leinart-Cutler comparisons. That CEO might even run Microsoft better than the current Microsoft CEO. It's not the team, it's about the player.

I felt more like "boys will be boys" about Miller, and I don't remember there being much, if any uproar about it. Maybe I was just tuning out the idiots that day. Besides, it was a good thing because his draft stock slid.

I seem to remember the general consensus of the board being happy witht he Miller incident, as a possible indication that he could fall farther to us in the draft.

Yep.... most Jet fans felt that way about it. I also seem to recall that the Jets were on of the few teams to spend any time looking into the incident. Mistake by the ither NFL teams for sure. The press made it sound worse than it was. being that it was only a week before the draft started.....

    HAH! Great line, 3!

I'm going to have to wait six months, and then use it and claim it as my own. :)

You honestly don't think it doesn't exist? That's just flat out denial. It's one thing to use race as an excuse for not being able to earn things, it's another to claim everyone is treated equally and fairly and has the same opportunities. It's just a sad fact that minorities have to work harder and are judged differently. Racial profiling is proven. Hiring practices are proven. It's a sad fact. I don't agree with the extremeist black leaders myself, but they perform a necessary function. The only reason Martin Luther King Jr. was able to even make advances is because of the more extremist threat from Malcolm X. This is sort of hidden knowledge. I bet you'd be surprised where I learned this from...not a black guy, no, a white philosophy teacher I had a couple of years ago. White people that are actually honest about things and have been in the world can admit these things. People that are sheltered and isolated can't, or don't want to. Whatever, I'm going to avoid bringing this type of thing up in the future on this board. It's not really worth talking about.

TBJ, you know how I feel, do you really think me the type of person that cares about promoting a race agenda? I have no reason to promote any race. I really don't care. I just call things realistically.

It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.

Your mentioning of racial considerations was so far form out of left field, it was, and remains a really silly thing to introduce into this discussion. Would you be surprised to learn that I've been victimised by racism? That discussion has it's place, and it aint in this thread. IRRELAVENT. TOTALLY.

I took a semester of Russian in college, and afterwards all of a sudden a lot of the slang in this book made sense. "Horrorshow" for good comes from the Russian word for good, chorosho (obviously I can't put it in using Cyrillic characters); "gloopy" comes from glupiyi for stupid; "droog" is Russian for friend, my little droogies; etc. See http://astro.imperial.ac.uk/~vaccari/mis/nadsat.html for lots of examples.

Both this movie and "Singin' in the Rain" were on my list of favorite movies in the BS Forum thread; anyone familiar with the movie would understand the strangeness of that combination!
