I might be crazy, but i remember being upset that we lost the opener to Baltimore. But i also remeber thinking right after winning 5 in a row that the loss was the key ingredient to those wins. The jets have been winning, but not dominating anyone, except for the bills. A knock off the pedestal and seeing where you have faults is sometimes needed to go to the next level.
Don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but that was the Lawyer Milloy game I believe. Milloy had just been cut by the Pats and went to Buffalo and they got all fired up and creamed the Pats. I hitnk...
C'mon, man, step back from the ledge. We're 5-2 and still in the drivers seat to win our division. I love how you totally discount the 5 wins and let one game determine your opinion of the team. It's a 16 game schedule. Now, if they suck again next week, then we'll have some concerns. but I can't see jumping off the bridge now.
If we went 15-0 and lost in week 16, some jets fans would still be on ledges saying our season was a fluke and we're going to lose during the bye week because we suck that much
Its thread-starters like this that take my New York pride down just a notch. As a city, why do we insist on freaking out after every loss? I was disappointed and upset after the loss, but I wasn't discouraged one bit. I am too logical for that...if they lose 3 in a row, then i'll start getting discouraged. Until then, shut up or GTFO.
it was a tough loss to swallow considering the toughest part of our schedule is coming up. 5 out of our last nine are against good teams. we may end up 9-7 at worst. upcoming, the browns game should be a better game than most think, which will follow a trip to detroit, which will not be a push over. houston at home will be really tough (very possibly a loss), with cinncinati to follow four days later. then we go to the pats which is always tough, and back home against miami, for our fourth straight hard game. we then go to steel-town, and the windy city on consecutive weekends and close out the season at home against buffalo who usually plays us tough when they are in the spoilers role. we very well may miss the playoffs, but if we make it in through some combination of wins, we should be ready for the playoffs. in our defense against green bay, our defense played awesome. our wideouts screwed us big time sunday, especially jericho cotchery he dropped 4 straight passes within the last 5 minutes of the game. our offense sucked from top to bottom. i look for our offense to get back on track sunday. i hope no team shows interest in randy moss, i would love to add him for the rest of the season. if we did our offense would get really hard to handle. he still wants that ring, and if he was a jet he might get it.
He's not better than Braylon at this point in his career, and he would't have made this offense any more hard to handle than it already is/should be. How about showing a little faith in this team, and chalking up the GB game to a bad day at the office totally not typical of a team which I, for one, think is the best in the league.
moss wouldnt be moving edwards, it would be cotchery who would sit until we go 4 wide. you must be kidding, randy moss would help any team that he plays for when he is motivated. playing for a contender, and being in a position other than passing decoy (when he isnt covered up by a defense) like in new england, moss is very productive. moss would have an easy time getting open or holmes would, there arent many teams who have a secondary good enough to contain the both of them. anyway the whole idea is over as moss went somewhere else. i havent lost faith yet, i believe this is the best team (on paper) the jets have had in a long time...maybe ever who knows yet?
The Jets are lacking discipline, but they still have the ability to make a run. I just don't long they'll last down the stretch and into the PO's.
To the OP: If it gets to be too much of a burden for you, you can always buy a bullet and rent a gun.
If you think this thread is hilariously ridiculous as a Jets fan, you should picture it from the perspective of a Lions fan. 10 times the funny!
Actually to expound, it's kind of the opposite for Lions fans. Example, we beat the Redskins and all of a sudden we're the greatest team in the NFL with huge overreaction from fans, and much like the sane people in this thread, some of us have to bring people back to Earth and remind them that we are a 2 - 5 team who beat the Rams and Skins.
In fairness, 52 penalties for 478 yards (ranking them 23rd in the NFL), plus the costly timing of a lot of the penalties shows a lack of discipline. They obviously aren't undisciplined in all aspects, but the penalties are a concern.
