I would think, although I hate Boston, that the Massacres would be a pretty cool name for a sports franchise.
meh...Mets/disaster thing is more of a function of obnoxious Yankees fans and more specifically living in the same town as the Yankees. No one can be the Yankees. Mets have been to 4 WS and won two of em, one in the most spectacular fashion in the history of the sport. Look at Houston that came around the same year, or Texas. One WS and they both lost. Seattle...never been. San Diego, went once and lost it. Mets will be back. Oh...and the original post is fuckin awful. That's a moment when people I knew died and it shouldn't be put up there in some kind of dumbass joke. Hopefully the guy that came up with it has his children die and it's captured on film and maybe someone can use it in a cute little internet joke that makes some laugh.
