Howard Green is like the fattest Yo-Yo on the face of the earth, we cut and sign him every other week
RT @Adam_Schefter: Packers have claimed NT Howard Green off waivers from the N.Y. Jets and placed LB Brad Jones on injured reserve.
Do you think this is just for gamesmanship purposes, or do you think theyre doing this because they need D-Line depth? Maybe both
edit: sorry, didn't see it posted picked up by the pack http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?sl...s_claim_nt_howard_green_off_waivers_from_jets
Please tell me this guy is at least serviceable. After all of the injuries, the Packers defensive line is looking like this: Jenkins, Cullen - probably out Sunday Montgomery, Michael - Signed off the street Wilson, C.J. - 2010 7th round draft pick Wynn, Jarius - Signed off the street Pickett, Ryan - probably out Sunday Green, Howard - ???? Raji, B.J. - Only healthy NT on roster until Green was picked up. We also have 3 linebackers on injured reserve, including two starters... and the other would have been a starter after Jones' injury. Can this guy at least give some relief to the front seven? Also, is he flexible enough to play DE in the 3-4? I'm assuming I shouldn't get my hopes up considering Ryan was willing to cut him the week before the game, knowing that this position was a glaring need for the Packers.
Good move by Thompson, figured it would go down. We can rent this guy for a few weeks till Pickett and Jenkins get healthy. He'll be able to give Raji a blow when we'll need him in the fourth Q to be fresh. Any inside info is an added bonus.

I think most people are smart enough to see that if Rex can't get anything out of a defensive player he's probably not even worth looking at. Just look at how much Drew Coleman has improved and Cromartie looks like a great DB once again.
Good call Green 'n gold, I wonder if Rex took into account greens blowing capabilities to keep pouha fresh for the fourth
