He probably won't be here long enough for that to happen but I too wonder why all the hate. This isn't the 50s where players in any sport never changed teams. They change all the time. It makes no sense to build up a lot of hostility for somebody who may be playing for you tomorrow. Pedro might have been a Yankee if the Mets didn't grab him first. Yankee fans would have been over it as soon as he got his first win.
Will I buy a Jason Taylor jersey no Do I love Jason Taylor as a person no Is Jason Taylor On the jets yes Do I root for every jet yes Case closed Far from my favorite player but I love the team
Well as JetsYankeesThrylos pointed out, Brady wouldn't be able to wear #12 so I just kinda assumed he'd go back to his old number from when he played college ball in Michigan. I can see where everyone got lost in my thought process since I never mentioned it anywhere. And yeah AJayJay I'd much prefer to own a Santonio jersey than a Justin Bieber wannabe, even if he was a Jet.
Two things I wanted to point out regarding the Jason Taylor thing. Firstly, I saw him on ESPN, and his attitude was exactly what I would hope that every fan would have. Yea, there were some words said. Yes, there was some acrimony. Who cares, it was a two way street, and now he's a Jet. Second, and I think more to the point, in fact I don't know how this isn't the gist of every article that's been written on the subject of Jason Taylor being a Jet, the Jets crushed Jason Taylor. Didn't the Jets at one point have something like a 13 game winning streak against the Dolphins in the first half of the decade, Taylor's prime? There hasn't been one time where the Jets would've done something great if it weren't for Jason Taylor and those damn Dolphins. It's not like Brady, who singlehandedly kept the Jets out of the playoffs a lot of years and hogged all the trophies for himself. Jason Taylor, the poor guy's barely ever even been to the playoffs. What the hell do any of us have to be pissed at him about?
Not gonna lie, still not at all used to seeing Taylor in a Jets uni. I don't think I ever will be. It just seems... surreal.
Very glad Taylor is a Jet, and hes won me other completely. Yes, I was sceptical about how he would play and his attitude, but both are spot on. I couldn't care less that he was a Phin. On top of being a great player, yes great, hes an honest good person and am very glad that he will be hopefully retiring as a JET, although it wouldn't surprise me if he did retire a Phin.
THIS! Took me a while to warm up to him, but his play and the way he's bonded with his teammates helped. The Showtime interview really made me like him. I will enjoy the rest of his time with the Jets, no matter how long it lasts.
I was always on board because it was like the bad guy winning at the end of a movie. All that was missing was Dolphin fans throwing cups of beer at him in his press conference or it would have been straight out of wrestling. I like that he made it personal about the deal in Miami too. He has been productive so that erased any doubt in my mind. I really like his comments about Sanchez and Rex. He may have been a douche to us in the past but he is our douche now.
For the haters, that do not get that football is a sport and entertainment. Taylor gets it, you don't. To summize, suck a fat one haters........... and 624 of course: /thread
Sacked Brady, sacked Henne, sacked Favre. I mean, if he was going to sack any 3 of the first 6 QBs we faced, those are the three you want.
You got that right Jake. He's here and the bottom line is as long as he can "Play Like a JET" I've got his back and so should the rest of us.
I became a fan as soon he became a Jet If i could cheer for favre, rooting for taylor shouldn't be a problem He hurt their feelings by saying that some Jets fans are asses I guess he must have been talking about them lol
