So if I'm CB covering WR. We're in the center of the field. WR jumps in the air, catches a ball, I grab his legs and carry him like he's a woman. Run out of bounds with him. That's incomplete?

I'm sure they would blow the whistle for forward progress if you tried that. You'd also get anally raped by 5 offensive linemen in the process.

The 20 yard carry to the sideline would be blown dead after like 5 yards. This gives the play a chance to work hes way out of the hold and continue up field. But if the player is 3 yards from the sideline and only one foot touches in bounds whether it was by his onw doing or the defenders, by rule that shouldnt be a catch. Which is why the Calvin Johnson catch is so puzzling because he had 5 points of contact inbounds (2 feet, 1 knee, 1 buttcheek, and 1 elbow) all while maintaining control. The main one being the elbow because when that hit it stopped his momentum going towards the ground which should have ended the play. I just wish I could see the reply. Im really interested to see exactly what happened.

Thinking about it though I guess the offensive equivilent would be rolling over a player and landing on your feet.

On the Calvin Johnson play, it was the fact that it appeared he fumbled when he quickly set the ball on the ground. Something to do with continuation of the play. It was not a question of being down, it was a question of ball control at the completion of the play.

For some reason, I thought the thread title read, "Holmes Suicide Watch". To which I said, "WTF?! Why is he down on himself? There'll be other opportunities...oh...SIDELINE CATCH. Oh, ok. Thank God."

But yeah, I believe his head n elbow hit the ground right before going out of bounds.

There were some really nice 3rd down receptions on that last drive. Sanchez threw one errant ball...but the rest were money. Even that 4th down pass. Holmes had that in his hands.Braylon & Santonio earned their keep on that drive IMO.

After the penakty, I was worried we scored too quick. I even re-watched LT's run to see if the Broncos let him score. The only Bronco who looks like he did was Renaldo Hill. He pulled up and didn't try to tackle LT. But he may have still been in shock...
